Any major differences in the 2016 vs the 2019 (or 2018)?

A dealership has a 2016 that is int he color i like and cheaper.
What would i be missing out on?

I personally love the adaptive cruise control. It does get annoying when someone merges on in front of me and my truck thinks it needs to slow down a lot. Other than that, I love it. Even after I lifted my truck I didn't have any issues.

FWIW - All the tranny complaints you read about here, my buddy’s ‘16 does it. My ‘19 runs smooth as silk.

I think the 19 has attachments on the passenger side floor mat. That's worth at least a grand.

    Oh, and homelink, I think.

2016 does not have TSS, which is a huge plus in my opinion, BUT it is the first model in a new generation. Can you give us details on each?

    Toyota Safety Sensors.
    - a huge black box on the windshield for the departing lane camera. Very expensive to replace the windshield.
    - a radar unit in the grille for cruise control and some other shit. Useless in the winter and a lot of times giving error readings.

I like it too, and for those that think they don't, you can adjust sensitivity for cruise, lane departure, and crash avoidance (whatever they call it) individually, and they're all turned up from factory.

    this and that...
whats the price difference. i know tacos have superior resale value and most times if youre comparing them vs the dealer and not private party its usually better just to buy new, just for that piece of mind.

Same here. My 2016 had the tranny issues. TSB’s helped improve it. My 2019 is smooth. My only concern about TSS is that it’s potential high cost of repair if it fails out of warranty. The adaptive cruise is sweet.

If my TSS fails after warranty I’ll just roll without it.

    2016 here.

Zero transmission issues, zero diff issues, zero issues period. It's definitely one built from the good parts bin! (Built in San Antonio)

72K on the ODO and still rolling!

    Just regular maintenance.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd easily go with the newer model regardless for one simple reason.

Unless there's excessive miles, the price will be too close, not to.

OP, what color is the 2016? If it is Blazing Blue Pearl or Inferno they are no longer available which may play in your decision.
