Looks like it worked out in the end though. just lots of run around. I think they blew up bigger and way faster than they anticipated. That's why I'm glad I got my update installed or I'd be blasting them.

 

Haven't seen the MkV. Not seeing it on their site? Gonna assume you meant the Mk4.

I think everyone should buy whatever best fits their needs and preferences.

Not to argue a point, but for clarification - on the lanyard aspect are you referring to the add on $13 silicone boot? I'm unaware of any place to attach a lanyard or even short loop of paracord to a Mk4 without the boot add on. Which I personally would hate, as in my experience with other silicone products the silicone really interferes with pocketability.

I don't use a lanyard, but have used the molded-in loop to hang the thing on a hook/peg. Guy I know with one of the old thermapens always used a lanyard, helped him keep up with it as he moved around the kitchen. I mention it in case it's important to someone -- which apparently it is to a number of folks given that Thermoworks includes a two piece lanyard with the $13 add on silicone boot.

*shrug* As above, buy whatever works for you. I have two Pro Duos and both have been flawless. (I keep one at our weekend place rather than having to remember the other one).

 

This brisket looks like it turned out better than mine. Especially the tenderness. Bet it makes some killer slices.

I’m not a huge T-bone kinda guy, but I couldn’t walk by these hunks of “reduced for quick sale” steaks. They will hit the smoke until 120, then sear on the grill as hot as I can make it.

17.5 hours... Temps were right around 200. Last one went til almost 210 but this was so soft and had that wiggle! Pulled, wrapped and into the cooler. Beans on the pit. Mac and cheese in progress.

 

Post them sliced pics. Wiggle...mine wiggled real nice yesterday.

I do burgers like this often. My little girl calls them my inside out cheeseburger. She loves them. You should try grinding some good bacon in with the ground beef.
