Wow, that's an expensive set-up for less than a years wear! I've been lucky I guess. My G3's are well worn but are still leak free.
My son had a seam bust on his brand new Simms G4Z waders. Simms sent a replacement right away and the new waders have been working out fine. Those zipper waders are sure handy and easy to get in/out of, but just so darn spendy ! Last year he sent in an old G3 pair that was all glued up from pin holes, user caused from bush whacking, and Simms sent him a new pair for just the cost of shipping, which was about $25.

Simms may repair or replace your waders if you do the on-line repair form on their web-site, it just might take 3 weeks or so to get the waders back.

The same shit everyone else has.
Sent em in once. They told me they weren’t repairable. Typical pin holes from brush busting and both booty seams leak.

I got the run around for like 3 months then they finally sent them back. I was told at one point by someone I spoke with on the phone they’d be replaced so I waited but the new pair never showed up. Called. They told me they had no previous record of anyone telling me they’d be replaced. I offered to pay what ever the repair fee was ever after being told they’d be warranties.. No response. Just got them back in the same condition.

Pretty pissed off cause everyone rants and raves about how awesome their customer service is. I had the complete opposite experience. As far as I’m concerned Simms is all hype and you’re just overpaying for a name. Their waders are probably awesome if you sit in a drift boat all day

I switched to Compass 360s after that. Warrantied 2 pairs out already when the seams on the gravel guards split. No questions asked. Replacement pair was in the mail at their cost within 24 hours of contacting customer service. They even sent me a more expensive for the troubles.

As far as I’m concerned, that’s how customer service should work. A company should stand behind their product. Especially when they offer to replace something under warranty or offer a repair service.

The shitty part is I love the G3 boots. I’ve got my monies worth outta them so I really can’t cpmplain. I fish at least once a week and walk 2-5 miles each time. The toe caps pretty much came off of them. The soles are worn smooth and falling off. Most of the seams are aquaseal’d.

I’d really like to purchase another pair but hate to give a company I dispise 225$ after how they dealt with the wader fiasco.

Thanks guys! My mom actually had me a cake made a lot like that a few years back.

The new korkers came in and I tried them out yesterday. A lot stiffer than my simms, which is good for ankle support. Took a minute to get used to them, but they grip fantastically with the studs. Oh, caught a few fish, too

This is going to be an awesome thread to follow! Hello fly fisherman. Been at it for about 5 years now and love it. Moving to the coast soon and looking forward to getting to tackle some salt water beasts

Just got into fly fishing. Went to Yosemite this weekend to give it a go and the only thing I caught was a tree branch, but apparently so did someone else because I got a free fly out of it lol

Yosemite is tough unless you go into backcountry (above Hetch Hetchy and the like) even then a 7-8” CA Golden is a treasure while backpacking.

Ya, that's what I read. We went up in Tuolumne for our 2nd night and a few guys were getting hits, but they shared the same view. Still had a good time though so I don't care

Hey guys, I am going through my apartment and doing some pre moving cleaning. I have an Orvis Access Mid Arbor III Reel. From what I have found on eBay, these guys are pretty pricey. I am seeing the gold colored ones selling in the 180-190 range. My question is with damaged line, how much does that hurt? Would it be reasonable to get 160 bucks out of it still? Also, what would you guys say an Orvis Encounter 9'6" 6wt rod and tube be worth? I see where these guys go for $180 bucks for a combo, but how much for just the used rod?

Damaged line not such an issue because buyer will most likely replace anyhow

    Sweet reel, good price imo

I’ll give u $50 for the rod if u post in the bst thread with some good pics lol
