Luv ya bro...I'm still in the Mosaic vs Netscape wars. When Archie & Veronica competed with WWW, gopher was a try guy...you're right.

Some pointers, circa 2018, from the top of my head. Feel free to shoot questions my way, I did the ak highway and the cassiar last year. This post just thinking about the Dempster.

Make sure you stop in at the NWT visitors center in Dawson City before you head up the Dempster, they will have the latest information on conditions. Also in Dawson is a NAPA. I could write a lot more about Dawson City, it's a sweet little town.

The Dempster road itself isn't so bad, but do bring spare spare tires. And a good jack. I ran into a guy with a 2500 Ram with a camper in the bed that wore out his factory jack changing tires on that road.

I wasn't watching my cell phone the whole time, but I'm pretty sure service up there was nonexistent. Ham radios would be good to have.

Beware the semi trucks. They give zero fucks. None.

Sometimes the road is dusty, sometimes it's sloppy, sometimes it's just right. Be aware that if you go from wet and sloppy into dusty that is a recipe for a clogged radiator.

Eagle plains has a tire shop, so they may be able to repair a flat for you. I didn't stay at the hotel, I camped either in the parking lot or at a place off the road to the north. The food is pretty good though and they have plenty of beer.

In Inuvik stop at the visitors center, you can get a certificate for sticking your hand in the Arctic Ocean. While there, I also highly recommend stopping in at Alestines for lunch.

I camped on the point in Tuk, it was free. They were still figuring out the whole tourism thing then, so that will probably change. Do stop into their visitors center though, they're very friendly and if you'd like to buy a locally made item, that's a good place to go. I got a sweet hat. The RCMP also has some swag for sale, but bring cash.

Also, I wanna go back.... *sigh*

I'll post more if I think of anything.
