What I've tried in the last 10 mins - yelling. Didn't work. Throwing wrenches. Still nothing. Verifies spark, weak yellow intermittent sparks - so I cleaned the grounds with a wire brush and tightened the crap out of the bolt. Still nothing. Battery is at 12.4V.. not sure what else to check here

Is it backfiring or sputtering at all?

Pull a spark plug, after you've cranked the engine, to see if it's wet from fuel

I've seen Garage Monkeys and others on TV using starter spray to isolate fuel or spark problems.

He pulled one earlier and said it was wet from fuel.

That means no spark at point of compression, but the ability to create spark is there, otherwise the ECU wouldn't allow the fuel pump to run. It's looking like a timing issue, no?

Indeed. not sure if it's possible to mess up the firing order on the coil packs because i've never seen a 3RZ before but i imainge the wiring layout simply wouldn't allow for the order to be messed up in any way, so yes, definitely sounding more and more like a timing issue.

I believe the cam position sensor and crank position sensor are what the ECU uses for the timing. So assuming those sensors are good still, and he does indeed have spark verified, that means the ECU should be sending spark at the correct time, but if the cam sprocket is off somehow the ECU will be sending spark at the incorrect time. I think.

Yeah, exactly. My first guess was the cam or crank sensor not connected at all. I'm real curios now for him to figure it out and tell us. lol.

    Verified
    - Fuel, theres fuel on the spark plugs
    - Spark, there is sparking when grounded
    - Grounds, buffed the gunk off and torqued
    - Electrical connections, solid
    - Compression, stuffed a small paper towel in one of the spark plug holes and cranked. Shot out like a rocket
    - *Timing, verified only once, the dots were lined up when cylinder 1 was on TDC

Will verify timing when i get home from work, get cylinder 1 on TDC, the dots lined up and then crank it 1 revolution just to be 100%.

Is there any other way to verify TDC? Could it be a valve issue?

Thank you to everyones input, I really appreciate it! Hopefully I'll get this baby up and running tonight

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
Fuel on the spark plugs. Hmmm. Could it be a case of being severely flooded?

Just for kicks, have you tried starting it with the accelerator pressed to the floor at wide-open throttle (WOT) and a jump from a known hot battery?

To clear a flooding condition, I like to have the starter spinning as fast as possible and the throttle wide open.

Here's hoping its something minor like that.

So I got the hashmark on the crank pulley on 0, saw I was a tooth off on my cams. So I realigned them, got everything back together and now its having a harder time cranking and still no firing.. about to haul this to the junk yard

My spark plug wires aren't reading any continuity.. maybe the problem? But then why is it that when I grounded my plug to check spark, it worked?
