Ice cream and pizza from that place that had the giant seagull with pizza in his mouth? Nah we had breakfast and booted up to lunenburg for about hour or two. And also went to Oak Island.

Blue nose II is on a sailing trip til Sept so then we went to Peggy's cove and had a lobster dinner maybe 2 min down the road. The dog was so tired she couldn't keep her eyes open

In the market for new tires , looking at the end of summer

I’m looking at Motomaster total terrains
    Or firestone destinations

If anybody knows if these are decent or horrible ?

I have no experience with either. If you are looking for a single tire to run year 'round in the woods and on the road, I'd recommend Cooper AT/W. I find them really good on snow and ice, which I find important. I run them in the winter, but they are intended for all year use in our climate and they go on sale at CT all the time.

The moto master the Canadian tire ones? Ya dont. I had shakes and the wear was bad. Balanced them a few times through their life

Hey folks. I'm in need of a new clutch. Any recommendations for mechanics who are good with transmissions or Yotas? Preferably both? In HRM. Thanks in advance.

I would say they are on par with Motomaster Total Terrain AT/3 for agressive, but have the added bonus of winter siping and lugs designed to hold snow, so you get the traction on ice and deep snow you won't get with other AT/3s.

    do you like coffee......:pccoffee: ?

on the civic I had Dan's Transmission on windmill rd in Dartmouth do the work. I had no issues with that clutch for the rest of the time I owned the car. ( and I had it quite a while after the clutch job )

Thats the shop my regular shop recommended when I melted the transmission in my matrix. There's once on the peninsula too - good guys but they couldn't save my poor matrix. Guy actually came to my house to diagnose it but they don't do rebuilds and I couldn't afford justify spending the money on a replacement (just bought a taco instead lol)

no tranny rebuild? Things may have changed ( I had my civic done in 2003 ) the initial problem was a chirping with the clutch in ( depressed ) *I think*. My memory's a bit foggy, but I think it was the Tranny's input shaft bearing. They had to split the case to replace it and suggested it would be a good time to rebuild it anyway since it would be open. The quote was over 2K. For a early 20's guy paying off his car loan & paying over $300/mo for insurance i nearly pooped my pants! I mean I could have just done the one bearing, but really I don't think I would have saved that much.

what I did in the end was source a used tranny from a guy in PEI who threw a rod by using too big a jet on his Nitrous setup. LOL! Said he only got to hit the button 3x before..... POP!. It worked out well for me, he had the US spec Civic EX tranny, which was equal to the CDN Civic SI tranny. Tighter gear ratios with the same final drive.

got that sucker over to Dan's Transmission for $500 all in, Dan's swapped the tranny's, and put a new clutch in there for $500, so for $1k I had a low mileage SI tranny in my otherwise stock 106hp Civic. Weeeeeeeeeeeee!

good times. I beat that car like a rented mule and it never let me down. Sold it for $2k back in 2008 with 250,000 Km's on it ( it was 10 years old, with the typical Honda fender rust )

I'm going to try Dan's... its actually pretty close to home so hopefully its a cheap tow. Hope none of my Ford loving friends are around when it goes on the wrecker or I'll never hear the end of it.

    Thanks folks!
