Hey, i'm all for it though. I think OP was trolling more than anything, but if serious I want him to have the best CC's for the job.

I know, but when someone says they're bad with money, and then asks about credit cards in the same breath, I'm not sure that's a good combination.

I know this probably isn't what yall are going for, but if you have an emergency fund you can save it here: liveoakbank.com . They have a 2.3% APY with a 2.27% interest rate. Its not much, but hey I get back about ~$30 a month for leaving some money in there. If you dont mind them taking 3-5 days to deposit and 3-5 days to send money back to your account its a good option. I mean, aint nobody gonna give you ~$30 buck a month just to have your money in there.

Anybody have a recommendation on paying bills via credit card? My mortgage company won't accept credit cards which is a bummer. I'm trying to leverage all that fixed spending every month

most companies won't allow CC payment, technically your mortgage company accepting payment probably wouldn't grant any rewards since it's like a cash advance.

The only bills of mine that accept CC is Charter internet and Spire gas. Others will accept CC, but maybe charge 2.5% to do so completely negating my 2% cash back.

Nice, just opened one too. Wasn’t too sure if anyone had an prior experience. Lots of linking, with the amount of data they are accruing, I can see how and why they are offering 2.57 percent.

Are you using this as an investment account or a savings account? I thought wealthfront was more of an investment account?

Seems like a sweet deal for a savings account

I'm only using for savings right now. My guess is the savings account is a loss leader in order to get the user in their ecosystem.

If you can, you should.. just because you'd get some points/cash back on the card. But like @whitedlite said, see if there are any caveats to doing so. I would totally pay my rent with a CC if I could, instant 2% off. But they don't let me, and if they did they'd probably charge me a fee.

Yeah that's what I'm encountering on all the bigger bills (mortgage, truck) which is really the only real way to make it worth it. Otherwise the the balance of the bills at 2% cashback is a whopping $11 lol

I feel like I should clarify in this thread: I have a truck payment by choice. Free cash flow is making me much more than interest

Same here, I had a long and interesting talk about this a few pages back. I will always take cheap money if someone's willing to give it to me!

paying off a mortgage with a credit card is the same as paying a credit card with a credit card unfortunately.

I looked into this as well, however my dealership did let me maximize my down payment with CC for 10k that was a decent little bonus.

a new chevy 0% for 72 months, if I could've gotten my tacoma like that it would've been crazy good money. Best I could get is 1.9% but even then my bank account is yielding 2.57% :bananadance:

Mine isn't that good, anyone would be crazy not to take that. I have about 3% interest on the truck, portfolio produces about 4.5% yield (cash payments), so it's easy for me to look at those 2 numbers and make a decision. Also, I worked hard to get a nice monthly dividend payment, couldn't just lower it for the "satisfaction" that I don't have a truck payment, makes no sense (at least to my mathematical mind).

Has anyone heard of IQDE? I just saw it advertised and looked it up, it's an ETF, defensive, for income, pays a 4.71% dividend. The only downfall is it pays quarterly, income funds should pay monthly but not a big deal.
