    Thank you so much.

It definitely is overwhelming, which is why I want to have it done for him. He’ll never do it for himself. He’d likely browse a little, but never actually get anything done. He’s funny about doing anything for himself.

Also, tires are a must. I live in FL (until we sell our house), and he’s stationed in VA, so the truck will have to be driven to him when he returns, and then will likely do a lot of driving. His tires needed replaced a long time ago. To that end, I told him now is his chance to make some modifications since we’re buying tires anyway. He gave me the green light. :)

Hopefully this works...photo of his truck before I started anything. I don’t have any more recent.

I’ll likely end up doing 17, it seems. I do really like the SCS — the stealth 6 looks like something he’d definitely be into.

Check out Black Rhino wheels. They have some pretty unique wheel setups.

Not really my style, bit since he'll never go offroad, I'd get him some nice Fuel wheels. They make all kinds of styles, I'd just make sure you get the same exact wheel size as the stock wheels. And maybe go with an aggressive looking tread pattern all terrain tire. He'll love the look of it.

Stealths are sharp. I would get those in a heart beat. The other ones you mentioned .. are an easy PASS.

    OP,

First off, Hi and welcome. I think your heart is in the right place. I'd hit him with a "Hey, I'd like to spend $XXXX on the truck, for lifts, tires, lights, etc."

If you're into camping as a family that's even better. Or put it into a road trip together or something to make more memories. Modifying a truck is a highly personal thing, and I can't speak into it for your husband. But you'd have my vote for wife of the year if I already didn't give it to my wife.

Good luck, and please let us know what you ended up doing and what his reaction is.

I have a sport and the brakes will not allow any 16" wheel without spacers. I think the Limited has the same brakes, could be wrong though.

Unless you have aftermarket upgraded brakes, 16" are quite popular here. I run 285s on 16x8 wheels, no spacers. I doubt any tacoma trim models comes with factory upgraded larger brakes.

The world needs more wives like you!

I love my wife dearly. But she sees an oil change as a waste of money. So there's that.

Well maybe I do have aftermarket calipers then. Do stock calipers have 4 pistons?

Yes, they are dual pistons calipers, 4 per wheel. Yours likely upgraded if running 35s

I like my fuel rims, reasonable price, and I knew they'd fit.

My wife actually bought the decal down the side for me the Christmas before we were married.

I'm running Duratracs for tires as well, I think they look beefy, but I'm not going to suggest tires cause I really don't know enough about them, your needs, etc.
