What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Drove with a coworker to a training center for work for the next few days. Dude is a car guy and took an opportunity to snap this shot when we were checking in to our rooms, turned out pretty cool

 

Nice!! I've been wanting to do this for so long just haven't found/bought the diamond plate yet. I think it adds some nice protection the the tailgate to keep it from bending.

 

Drove 6 hours total to get a camper shell on CL.

 

Installed TRD Short Shift kit. The engagement is so much better than stock. It's much notchier in a good way.

 

Installed an axle dump Catback.
It’s kinda loud and obnoxious driving civil, sounds great WOT though
I’m not sure how I feel about it yet.

 

So what do you guys charge for an hourly?

Helped do a LT front suspension, did a shock relocate, boxed the frame, and 63 swap on one truck there was sawveral of us working Randy was with us helping a lot.

Tnx and I agree...if ur looking to do the aluminum thing find a metal shop etc and see what they have for scrap...I picked this up from a local weld shop outa the scrap pile for way less then if it were cut out of a sheet, and they were happy to get something for it

 

not bustin on you, but there are many states that wont pass that inside the body exhaust on inspection.....just something for folks to be aware of if ur inspector plays it tight to the book.....

 

That's how I did mine, it worked pretty well. I might try to heat the oil a little bit next time. Or not do it in the middle of winter. LoL

 

looks nice except when you pass out from carbon monoxide poising from all the exhaust getting in the cab. wouldn't pass inspection in texas.

 

Is it aftermarket or Toyota genuine ?

 

I cut mine after the axle and dumps near vertically. No exhaust in cab issue and no inspection in Florida.

Seemed to get many favorable reviews so I took the chance at 50$ vs the 200$ for the oem one. Even if I have to replace it twice, I’ll feel like I’m ahead of the game.

 

Is anyone running a Volant CAI part # 185406 on a 2012-2015 4.0L with RedLine Tuning hood struts? I’ve heard you have to space the airbox back 1” or else the struts hit the airbox. If you have this setup would you please post a pic of it?

 

I cut my exhaust at the axle like that and mine passes inspection here in Texas just fine.

 

Depends on your state and how lenient the garage is feeling.

Some states say it must exit beyond the last working window. Some say beyond the last working window and outside of underneath the body.
