Hey folks, just picked up a 2019 Tacoma TRD OR 2x4. This is part my fault but on the test drive I only got it up to 60mph and everything was great. Leaving out to the main hwy and getting up to 70mph the steering wheel started shaking. Ok go back to the dealer and they did a quick tire balance and said all was good.

Leave out again and it's still doing it but not as bad now. Didn't have time to go back. Yesterday take it to my local dealer "not the one I purchased it from" and they strip all the weights off and re balance. Still have the issue. Bring it back to them today and rode with the tech, he saw the shaking and tried balancing again. Ride back out with the tech and still shaking. Now he doesn't have an idea, he said it's balanced.

Any advice? I've explained it all to my purchasing dealer and they said I can bring it back and they will give me a loaner while they try to figure it out. So I guess that's my next step.

That sucks, maybe it's coming from the driveline?

Any yota dealership should take care of you, and I would drive it to a dealership, drop it off, take off in my free loaner, return when they say it’s fixxed, test drive with tech. If problem persists, repeat steps. If not, enjoy the new truck.

It starts at about 70mph and higher. It's odd because it will start vibrating then slowly stop then start again then slowly go away. repeating randomly.

Edit: are drive line problems common with this truck?

The shaking persists through down shifts, I was thinking maybe drive line too

"Funny", I had the EXACT same issue with my Pro. Signed the paperwork, drove it off the lot and felt like the wheels were really out of balance. Took it back. As it turns out, all four tires had flat-spotted. We think it was due to the heat (Phoenix), as another identical truck that was kept in the shade (compared to the roof with the one I got) didn't have any issues. In the end, they ended up swapping me the whole truck. I think these horrible goodyear "car tires" are junk. Thankfully, my duratracs will be here today.

I think if you get up to speed and shift to neutral and the problem continues it’s tires. Not 100 percent on that.

Thank you for the input and thanks freebird for sharing your experiance. I can deal with it being tires, being the drive line would make me sick. I traded a Chevy to get away from that stuff.

I agree with free bird, have them put different tires on it.

Thanks Sgt.Tee, I let the purchasing dealer know what I've been through and that I'll be dropping it off in the morning. They said they have a loaner ready. I dread the 1hr+ drive each way but I'm going to politely remind them how many vehicles I've purchased and to please not call until it has new tires because I'm worn out and it doesn't need anymore balances.
