Yeah, me too - daily driver stuff rules for now. Everything I've done to this outfit so far has been based on a need for more use / capability (or driver convenience). Carrying a loaded up toolbox is just a habit from my old job as a field engineer.

Please keep a look out for an MSA 4x4 spare tire trash bin for sale or on a truck around Tucson. Someone decided to steal mine right off my truck in the work parking lot yesterday. Very uncommon item... If you see one that is not on my green GX470 (Already ordered a replacement), it's probably stolen so please note license plate or contact info and let me know. Or shoot them :notsure:

Hey all, I moved to Tucson about 6 months ago from Denver and realized I haven’t used my truck much at all off road since. Ive hit up reddington road, and camped out near Sedona but not anything else being out on my own.

I would like to meet up with some other local people either at a brewery (Barrio?) or a trailhead. Get a feel for the area, make some new friends and all that.

Used to be on a CO TTORA site but that forum seems dried up these days both here and in CO. I’ve been a lurker on Tacomaworld since probably 2012. Didn’t officially join till last year!

    I have mods
I'm down for getting out and doing some more wheeling and camping. That is, once the truck is back together and running again. Down for valve cover gaskets and having the fuel injectors cleaned and rebuilt. Still a couple weeks out at least before I get it running again. @Ace115, @Phessor, @Sapnjack and I did a multiday camping and wheeling trip back in February, following the southern half of the AZBCDR. Had a blast and we all want to get out and do some more of that trail. Reddington area has some pretty good wheeling as well with a few decent areas for rockcrawling if you like doing that.

Ahhh I see, sounds like some future plans are in the works! If ya need a hand PM me and I’ll be happy to meet and wrench. I know second gens pretty well, but haven’t worked on the 3.4. This heat makes things hard to work on past like noon

Made my first Chiva run today. Second time really taking the truck out. Sucks there was no water, but still had a blast anyway. Got to build my confidence up in the truck to see what it can really handle. Onto Sedona!

Gotta pull them off the DSLR and edit them. Heading back to LA tomorrow morning so I'll be able to get to them after.

I've been into car stereo before I was old enough to drive. I have built several boxes for myself and friends over the years, and have had aftermarket audio equipment in every vehicle I have ever owned. Naturally, that love of audio extended into my home as well.

I currrently have a single 18" sub in a ~8 cu ft slot-ported enclosure tuned to 17 Hz powered off one channel of a Behringer pro-audio amp. The amp can put out a verfified 2000 wpc RMS, but the sub driver can "only" handle 1000 watts. I used 3/4" MDF for the enclosure, then used 1/4" birch as a veneer on all side but the baffle. For the baffle, I used two layers of 3/4" MDF and used a metallic copper paint and rolled it on with a texturized roller. It sits on 4" chrome feet.

When I get back home, I have two 15" subwoofers that will go in tapped horn enclosures tuned to 15 Hz. They will play up to 60 Hz and receive 500 WRMS each. Mid bass will be picked up by four 12" subs in two separate enclosures up front. I am also going to build risers for my seating that will have a 12" driver underneath each seating position for tactile feedback. These will not be enclosed - the drivers will simply be mounted to a baffle that is raised off the floor a couple of inches. The motion of the drivers transfers to the seats without adding any sound.
