    i have a sporadic left front tap. low speed bumpy road condition only. up and downhill. changed out to poly body mount bushings 2 years ago. ucas less than a year old. running icon delta joint. greased ucas and delta joint. pulled skids off and everything. still stumped. now I'm listing and reading up on every suspension noise thread.

    I have a light "tap" going over small bumps and curbs too. After literally completely redoing everything up front.. think it's just the lower mount of the fox 2.5s.. think it's just the nature of having aftermarket coilovers!

    why would it be the mount.? Have you checked the bolt? There should be two bushings taking up the slop in where the strut mounts and once you torque it down there shouldn't be any relative play?

    Yes exactly, the lower mounting eye. Mine actually scored the coilover eye from contacting the lca mount. Seems that the split bushing pushes them too far back. That contact could make sound..
    Also the top hat bushing has play. Another post had video on the Fox 2.5 unmounted. The guy was wiggling that thing back and forth by hand.

    I've decided to just live with it now.. my front ends completely rebuild now too. I'm at 155kms so all those bushings/ball joints were about due anyhow haha

    ya, that's what quite a few people have said.. im a little past Foxs recommended thread showing but if I didn't crank it down that much I wouldn't have gotten any lift out of these coils at all... I bought a set of King 14x600 coils, just waiting for my new lcas to come in and I will rip it all apart together and do one alignment..

    I've had the most annoying noise on the front passenger side of my truck when going up an incline any faster than like 1-2 mph. I did some inspecting on all my bolts and tightened up the pass side uca thru bolt which was a little loose. Noise definitely went away when it's just me in the truck. When I have a passenger in the front seat, the noise comes back (going up an incline or turning the wheel full lock). It sounds like my tires is shredding my fender liner but I don't see where it's making contact at all. Chopped my cab mounts a few months ago but didn't do the pinch welds yet. I'm not sure if that could be it or not, but it's super annoying.

    Well. After much waiting I finally had a day to rip out my old lowers and put in my new expedition stock length LCAs in and much to my happy surprise, CLUNK IS GONE!!! Thank the lord little baby Jesus. Thanks to all you guys who helped give input in this matter. U guys are all awesome!

    Your lower ball joints looked like they had torn boots and had leaked grease. Was the noise coming from bad ball joints or from the LCA bushings?

    Cant say for sure, I never did the ball joint test to see if it was the ball joints or the bushings....

    Yes sir. They were cooked, I had to take my grinder with a cutoff wheel to get the fronts off. The bushings were completely fuuuucked
