I lost a Redline strut for this very reason. I’m one struttin it and it sometimes stays open. It will bend the strut badly and will break as mine did if you can’t repo the air box.

More night wheeling. Took a ton of paint off my sliders, front OEM bumper & a little bit off my @SOS CONCEPTS rear. Good times with a couple of jeeps fully locked on 38’s

    1. Power wash/detail often
    2. Lucas oil “tool box buddy”
    3. Many components under my truck were just painted so they look better than normal. (Marlin LCA brace kit and rear diff cover were all just welded on and painted)

do you use anything when you powerwash/detail it? do you use a home washer, or take it to a self service wash with a power wash? I'd like to get under there and spray it with some kind of cleaner, to get all the dirt off, but have no idea what product to use, that wouldn't risk degreasing joints and bushings.

You can use a degreaser like simple green and agitate any really dirty areas. I use an electric power washer at home. I do detailing on the side but you don’t have to spend much money to get a good setup. I actually made a quick video on a good setup that costs under $200. Use a power washer at home and spray the tool box buddy on those areas and you’ll be gold. Tool box buddy is incredible stuff. Just spray on & walk away

Won’t happen unless you let the truck run in a garage with door closed and no ventilation. Which is actually suicide anyway.

Installed a center console safe: Lock'er Down.

This safe is solidly made and the install was very easy. Just needed to remove the center console cover (some screws) and this safe bolts right down.

I'm always leaving my truck to fish, hunt, spearfish and this just gives me a little more peace of mind leaving some valuables behind. Otherwise, I'm usually trying to hide my stuff elsewhere.

The one issue I heard with others is there's a gap on the passenger side of the console that things can fall into and be lost into the void, unless you remove the whole safe again. I cut some of the foam packing and blocked the void as seen below. Problem solved.

Most people I see get this use it for conceal carry, which in Hawaii isn't allowed (except for exceptional situations). I also have the Hitch Safe, which I do use quite often actually. I plan to pair this safe with the Compustar RPS Touch which will allow me to lock my keys in the truck (in the safe now) and arm/disarm the vehicle with a touchpad behind the windshield. It should be a pretty good setup for my uses.

I have the Volant CAI and Redline hood struts, they interfere on the passender side spretty good. I ended up trimming the CAI so it is not sealed any longer, but its not an issue to me as I'm rarley in water ever. You could space the box about 1" inwards, and all the parts should clear.

Ill edit this post and upload am image here when I can later today.

Have you noticed any issues after cutting the box? I wouldn’t imagine there would be any.
