And absolutely crazy and insane that there’s high mileage 3rd Gens with no issues.

Everyone knows the 1st and 2nd Gens torque monsters make it to 500,000 miles with no frames rusted, no wheel bearing replaced, no head gaskets blown, no ball joint recalls.........

True, but am guessing most people whom drive 2miles a day with their vehicles are not modding them like a lot of us are for off roading. Could be wrong on that though.

Same here. I logged less than 20k miles in the 3 years that I owned my 2013 TRD and have only 690 miles on the 2019 TRD that I've owned for 4 months.

I don’t know. I would think that having less of a dependence on a DD would make it easier to mod. I can just walk or bike to work.

I would think those with long commutes either distance or traffic are less likely to mod their vehicles from a DD perspective.

19000 on my 2017. Most going back and forth to orthopedic doctors. I live a long ways out in the country. Can hunt national forest land out the back door. With that said I didn’t buy it to sit still.

I put 79k on my 2016 tacoma leased work truck. It was a 4cyl auto 2dr, i beat the hell out of that truck.

Bought a 2018 TRD OR MT used this year and have 22k on her.

I'm sure it's obvious, but what was it like driving both engine types? Do not see many reviews out there of the 4 cyl 3rd gens

well...First off I had never gotten on tacomaworld or looked into these trucks when I was provided the FREE leased 2016 tacoma short cab truck for work. It was auto and it was free and i got to sell my old grand marquis daily (and a 97 ford ranger daily). aside from the 4cyl being a dog, and the transmission I thought sucked, I wasn't one to argue with free.99. It didn't have cruise control or intermittent wipers which was probably my biggest gripes. I took that thing "off road" to get to the cabin I hunt at in virginia and aside from bending a couple of the cheap ass steel wheels and ending up causing some silly vibrations in the steering, it handled way more than I thought it could off road. I have no real complaints the 79k I put on the truck over 2.5 years. I'd have assumed the v6s were better, but once i started looking for my own truck, i was surprised to see the auto guys complain just as much at the transmission, as well as, all of the other crazy issues people had with them.

oh and the carpet and seats...man those seats would look like you murdered someone if you just spilled water on it. the staining was crazy (i have leather in my OR so many thats still an issue) and the carpet was the most ridiculous black carpet ever. the weave like made it so dirty seemed to WANT to get stuck in it. I'd never had dark carpet that was that hard to get clean.

Had the truck for exactly a year and have put 28k on the clock, a handful of 1,500 mile (one way) hunting trips a year add up. Recently lifted the front 1.5" and noticed the needle bearing is grinding, that's the only issue I've had.

    Stock and staying that way
38k miles on my 2017. Only issue is the original battery died at 1 year old and was replaced under warranty. I plan to keep it for ~8 years. 4 more months and it will be paid for.

    Just getting started...
Just turned over 18,500 on my 2018, picked up June of 2018 with 13 miles on it. No problems to report so far other than the usual shi**y standard auto trans performance that there's plenty of chatter about on here. Usually just wind up poking the ol' ECT button to keep it more in the power band so it doesn't bog down quite so much. Other than that, absolutely love it!
