I used an 8 pack of black Sugru. Worked great.

    It's complicated.
Did you use it on the bed itself? If so, can you point out the areas where you used it?

I ordered an A.R.E. MX, and my dealer pointed out that the bed itself leaks from many different locations. I'd like to seal those areas, to make the bed waterproof, before my top arrives in 5-8 weeks.

    Thanks.

I used it to seal up the gaps between the front top bed rail and the bedsides, as well as some gaps near the back of the bed. I’ll definitely get you some pics before you shell comes.

I must say though, I still get some water in my bed when it rains. Toyota designed these beds horribly.

I have the SE on my Super Duty and love it. I bought it out of their outlet which is supposedly 'scratch and dent' but I'll be damned if I can find anything resembles a blemish of any kind on it. I usually put the heavy items in the bed so I didn't need the capacity, I just typically have mountain bikes on the top.

I will say this to you guy leaving valuables in the bed with this cover, it's not as secure as you think it is and it's my biggest gripe with this cover. The cover itself is very well built... but it's locked with a standard tool box key. Any idiot with the right numbered key can get right in. I'm looking into swapping my tumblers out with BoltLock tumblers so it's keyed to my truck's key. I wrote to Diamondback and supposedly they're going to a different keying system so they're not using standard tool box keys but I haven't seen any changes yet. Just a word of caution. Otherwise, it's an awesome cover!

How many of the little packs did it take to fill one of the front bed gaps?

I believe I used 5 packs total between the two front gaps.
