    what brand did you use?

I have Llumar Air 80 and it's pretty clear. Some slight rainbowing with my Maui Jims but not bad. Also had 50% Huper Optik ceramic in my old car and it wasn't bad either. The lower quality tints aren't as clear. Found this article: https://www.revantoptics.com/blog/why-youre-seeing-rainbows-in-car-windows/

To the OP maybe you can put some paper or something the size of the tint strip and see if it is effective for your view. I'm not a fan of them.

Unfortunately my guy is busy until summers end :( but I had it in my previous car and loved having it. I'll probably just end up getting it once hes available to install. I appreciate everyone here giving some real answers and opinions without bashing on each other in this thread.

I have the visor tint with an 8" strip. I'm 6'3 and it does affect your field of view, but I don't even notice it. I definitely helps with the glare of the sun.

If I was going to keep my truck for a long time, I was planning on doing what my co worker did. But opted not to this time around. He did a 5% strip on top and then the clear* ceramic over the rest of the windshield. Most people don't think the windshield is tinted because the strip on top draws the attention.

I found out the "clear" ceramic tint isn't actually clear. Combined with the factory tint on the windshield it won't pass a light meter test here.

I drive by my local police station everyday on my way to and from work. 90% of the cars in the employee parking lot have tinted windows but not the windshield. Once I even sent email to the Chief of Police asking about why he allows this. His reply, none of the employee vehicles have tint to his knowledge. Well I just informed dumbass! Typical BS. I haven't been stopped for tint in years. (Probably just jinxed myself). Last time I just paid the $50 fine. It's probably a $400 fine today.

Yay for me OP, I have it on mine and it helps protect the dash that last hr or two before the sun goes down and I don't need the sun visor like I used to.

EDIT: Mine is ceramic and tint all around.
    Cheers!

older thread, but it helped me with my decisions, so thought I'd add mine...did a 5% brow for the first time and really liked it. It takes some getting used to, as the windshield is already so small, but helps when the sun is low. I'm 5'9" and it ends well above my line of sight. Keep in mind that the standard brow template was like 3-4 inches lower and way to low (IMHO). So I had them cut it back to about the AS1 line. Also i like having the extra black trim and also covering up all the different "steps" on the stock windshield from the outside..plus it was only like $15 more and could be easily removed.

IMG_20190526_193852.jpg I love the brows for sunny days! I don't yet have one but did Air Blue 80 the entire windshield, love it but an additional brow would help too

I'm considering putting a black wrap on my roof and if I do that then I'll most likely do the tinted visor too.

The PO of my new to me '17 added one and I hate it, pretty much cuts traffic signals in half for me. Going to get it removed and do a hood blackout to cut down on glare (super white taco).
