Does anyone know who might be above a service manager? I've tried contacting him three times and he has not gotten back to me. I'm gonna try one more time before I go up there to strangle him.

Anyone having trouble actually getting the replacement done? I was approved for a replacement in January and they are still waiting on parts.

Has the dealership provided you with a rental while waiting for parts?

I was at the parts counter the other day (lines on my Rack and Pinion have rusted through) and the tech was going to look up my service recalls. I told him I needed leaf springs and the frame inspection and he said he didn’t think I qualified because those were “over”. So if I get the run around what should I do?

I have to call them again. Long story short, after a few months I looked under the drunk and the hole grew about 4 times the size. I told Toyota, they said they would give me an equivalent rental (4Runner or Tacoma with roof rack) because I have a bunch of camping trips planned and need the clearance and roof rack for the tent. They gave me a rav 4 and said they would keep looking for something better. I am in the middle of camping trips so I have my truck back.

The parts guy is a dumb ass. It's 12 years from date of 1st use. Since you have a 2010, you have until sometime in mid 2021 to mid 2022, depending on when it was originally sold.

Yes, it's driveable, but my local dealer failed the motor vehicle inspection for the hole in the frame, so I can't legally drive it.

My frame was approved for replacement with the assistance of a local dealership. I dropped off the vehicle on Monday as requested and I asked them to please accommodate me with a pickup truck for rental vehicle. At this point, I have not received a rental vehicle. Dealership is waiting for regional manager to approve, apparently this requires approval by corporate?

I've contacted Toyota customer relations directly and I'm still waiting to hear back. I'm sure the timing on all of this, during the 4th of July holiday, isn't helping my case.

So I finally had time to take it to the out toyota that I wanted to bring it too (the better one). I talked to the service manager and she said that I would have to bring it to the original place that did the recall. But she looked up my warranty work and didn't find anything at first, she said it was never done but she looked a little further into it and found out that it was done but the recall ticket or some sort of paper work was never completed and they may not have done what they were supposed to. I have a appointment to drop my truck off Tuesday and the service manager is gonna have the district manager look at it too. It got real juicy there so I'm really curious for the end result.

So I dropped my truck off at the second dealership for the frame inspection because the first one did the work but never closed the ticket and marked it as "goodwill" whatever that means. Does anyone know what the "goodwill" means?

It means they did work for you for free that they were not obligated to do.

Thank you very much. That’s kind of what I was thinking. Idk why the service manager didn’t really know what it meant.

Gonna bump this up. Took the truck in yesterday to High River Toyota, in Alberta, Canada. Frame failed, small hole right by the drivers side cab mount. Under the CRC so you couldn't see where it was corroding at all. Frame looked decent still Imo. Anyways, get those trucks in guys. It may look like it's ok but you never know.

Yep, and for Canadian sold '05 to '07 and early '08s the inspection time ends in 5 days.

I have a buddy who isn't on TW. He has a 08 that is show lots of frame rust. He had it service for the recall in 2016 but all they did was a spray. Have anyone dealt with this issue? How was the outcome with toyota?

Yes mine got the spray a few years ago initially. I just called the dealership to confirm I could bring it back in for an inspection before time ran out. They said no problem. He should be good. If one dealership won't do it, call another one. Is a minimum 13k job and new frame worth a 2-3 hour drive? I think so.

If his was the 1st '08 sold off the lot, he's too late. Tell him he needs to get in for a frame inspection TOMORROW.
