And if you're gonna paint it then paint it. Matte Quicksand is too close to the original. Shift it a shade or 2 or pick a color not normally found a on a taco but also not over the top. Unless we are talking about Rootbeer bass boat sparkle with giant metal flakes. That would kick ass.

The whole thing with matte is I wouldn’t have to do the jams.. they would be near identical shade. I’ve always wanted a flat/matte quicksand. We’ll see maybe we will mix up some “off sand” colors

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Out of those choices Soft gold has the hint of gold or tan accents to match the truck but also looks like it has hints of blue in certain light to match the king suspension which will be a big show item. :hattip:

    I'd recommend "Cutlass Supreme" black

I think I’d agree with some of the others saying soft gold is a good pick. Then flat black metallic is a good fallback along with the matte black bronze one. It’s always so hard to tell with those little swatches compared to the whole item being the new color

    Killer build man!

Is there a write up on the fender trimming anywhere? I've tried searching and your photos are the only I've seen on it. Thanks![/QUOTE]

Had a test sample sprayed with a matte clear just to get an idea. I didn't want flat(too primer looking) but just enough satin sheen and not glossy like clear coat.
I think it will be perfect!

Sorry no official write up. Just take a sawzall and go to town!

That matte clear actually does look pretty awesome. Stoked to see how the truck turns out fully sprayed.

Matt type colors are gross... especially in cement or quicksand.

The first piece to my boosted puzzle is in..
Thanks to dirty deeds for the setup! Dual 2.5” to a 3” full back. Paired with the OV tune dumps, this 3.5 should breathe. Also we went with a large Helmholtz resonator so there shouldn’t be any drone.
It’s not complete(he ended it at the rear axle) since I will be adding on and doing a custom outlet. My plan is to integrate the tip into the rear bumper for a clean and stealth look:D

    38C47931-86ED-4BFE-9DA6-A64F617D4B30.jpg

Since the fenders and bedsides have to get painted anyway(which is basically half the truck) I felt if doing a custom color.... now is the time to do it.
I will be prepping everything myself(removing panels, trim, handles, etc) to help out the body shop. They will color match the fenders quicksand, then shoot the whole truck with PPG matte. Not doing the jams since it’s all basically the same color. Cost is about $4-5k.

Truck is making some headway. Too much blue

    Xvnp5isVSuSuPtyyaEHKiQ_thumb_2ee9.jpg

Just reinvesting it back into the Taco. It's the circle of life:rofl:

Yeah he did a great job(haven't seen it personally yet) and super easy to work with. On the downside, It looks like it might now work with the way the turbos are oriented. :( Back to the drawing board..

Well if you say too much blue, seeing how you customize EVERYTHING, shouldn't be around much longer haha
