Like i said, i think the truck drives well now stock, with 300-400 pounds over the rear axle full time, my only complaint is in the mountains on 70 outside of denver at highway speed...lots of hunting but traffic also never flows consistently.

Not a mall crawler by any means (i hate the mall) but im also realistic in that probably only 5% of my miles are off pavement, i wish that wasn't the case :( freaking corporate America

Good to know, highway performance still okay? My commute is nearly all i25

Not too bad! I almost died a little for you at first!

I have 35s waiting to go on but don't have the money to re-gear yet. Is it a total pain to daily drive with your 35s on? where are you finding it the most noticeable? Thanks

yowza that's a heavy bottom for your truck OP. very cool look tho. with this kind of weight definitely regear. it will be a painful drive w/o it.

Hard to say. Some people don't mind some people hate it.

I've had my 35's for a few thousand miles now. I probably won't regear for another couple months. I have the gears too.

I just invested in new suspension system (ICON shocks with reservoir front and rear and ICON leaf pack) along with 285/75/16 Ko2's. Maybe not right away but definitely going to re gear to 4:56 gears. If money is not a huge issue and want the most out of your setup I say re gear, you'll be happier how your Tacoma will drive in the long run:D

I am on 285/75r17 (~34”) and while it’s tolerable and has been for a year or so. I have decided to regear. I have 5.29s going in next week

Dayuum niice, big moves. You should look up "Taco Twonz" on youtube. He has your exact tire size, but i forget what gears he got (& his reasoning behind it). Watch that vid before doing the regear. Might help you get some useful information. Just my 2 cents. Looking forward to pics

I have 285/75/16 BFG Ko2’s E rated tires on my truck and without hesitation I re-geared to 4.56. In my opinion if your carrying lots of gear it’s well worth it, my truck runs awesome, no drag from the heavier tires and all the cargo I carry with me. I went with Nitro Gears

Yeah it’s expensive but worth it!

Anyone running 285/70/17 P Rated tires with stock gears? How does it run? My stock 2nd gen is pretty laggy already when I hit the gas, I imagine that the lag gets worse with 33s

255/80/17 erated 33s for me with sliders and a canopy and I'm fine with the power delivery with no desire to regear.
