You just need a mod day, it's basically extortion of labor by way of pizza and beer. I used to join in on mod days just to help people with their stuff.

 

I should buy a 2 post and host mod days for free labor

 

thats not rtv if your talking about the blue stuff.. ford uses rubber coatings on their gaskets. also it seems like the fit is alright.

 

i wouldnt mind joining in on mod days. i do genuinely just enjoy working on trucks and cars. but mod days dont happen up here

 

No he actually did use RTV on top of that in the vid. But it wasn't too cludgy, it was just for the water port which is good practice on this type of gasket, though I would use Hylomar instead of RTV.

 

I always like to help on auto stuff if it's a friend's. Helps me learn if its something new, and I can help it go a lot faster if it's something I've done

ah. I've got tubes of the Toyota Coolant FIPG.. shits expensive.. 86 bucks a tube... so i hang onto it. love the stuff though. toyota sealants are what i used to seal my mothers ford up. lol

threebond makes the best gasket material. theyre the manufacturer for toyotas stuff and hondabond...

lol might as well have been but no, when I was 19 or so I bought a POS mid 80s Toyota 4x4 pickup that was SAS'ed for $500. It didn't run and was completely stripped and haphazardly put back together like tweakers love to do. My friend and I naively thought we could fix it up. The tweaker didn't even have the pink slip and spent an hour tearing his shitty trailer up looking for it while we sat in his room. While we were outside looking at the truck, the dude brought a revolver out and starting shooting at imaginary birds that he believed were sent to listen in on him. He was certifiably insane, tweaking out of his mind

Probably one of the worst purchases I've ever made lol. But I was 19 and my Prerunner made me long for a 4x4. I sunk maybe $1500 into that thing trying to get it fixed but it was just too far gone, sold it to a dude on Yotatech as a parts truck. He built crawlers and I'm sure put it to good use.
