Do you regret going to the t4r and auto trans, or do you love the new truck.

I haven't seen a gladiator in person yet, have seen a few rangers. Don't really dig the rounded look of the Ranger and the high slanted looking bed from behind.

Gladiator I'd like to see in person, I'm leery of 1st year models tho after having some bad luck at Ford, and seeing the weld issues on the new Jeeps.

I mentioned a month or two ago my father was looking for new trucks. I pushed the Taco but my mother didn't find the seats comfortable and my dad was looking for a "car" feel while driving...so I went and picked up a new Ridgeline with him yesterday.

He got the Sport model which is like 1 step up, interior is pretty basic but has all the nice features you want, that are pretty common on every car these days. I really really like the truck bed on it, and if Toyota copied it I'd be happy. The dual swing door and storage under the bed is really nice. For what he is going to do (dump runs and tow a small boat once or twice a year) it is PERFECT. For any of us who want to get it a little dirty sometimes...well Tacoma is the right choice still.

They're awkward looking. Jeep could have knocked it out of the park if they'd offered a 2 door version (those would have been badass), but a 4-door Wrangler with a truck bed is too long.

My family has always had good Honda’s.

only to 8 years, and I have a couple years to get the extended one before the factory runs out. But it is a manual transmission and I didn’t get any fancy electronics aside from power windows.

I’ll wait and see what issues pop up and what resale is ect. If it holds most of its value it would be hard not to trade it in after a few years no point getting an extended warranty if that’s the case.

I've driven the T4R to Boston a ton of times, plus Canada and Florida. The Tacoma only had 110k after 11 years.

Overall, I like the 4Runner. I wish the 6spd was available. The automatic is just boring.

    Wow I hope you're ok!

I didn't mention this because well honestly I was too embarrassed.
A couple of weeks ago it was my 2nd week at my new job and I got hurt. The lot was VERY small and I couldn't get the back of the trailer flush with the loading dock. We were using a plate to fill the uneven gap and while I was pushing the customer was pulling the pallet jack. Anyways the plate moved and fell, the pallet moved backwards and I fell into the gap head first onto the plate which was standing straight up on its end.
Tons of blood! Ambulance called! I got rushed to the hospital and had 10 staples put in right on the top of my head... that was not a good day.

I just had the staples removed on Sunday.

So I'm back from vacation today! :pout:

Got a bunch of projects done around the house that I'd been putting off for lack of time, but I'm wrecked. I suppose it's good to be back at work for a chance to relax a little bit, lol.

Picked up a dump trailer from the equipment rental place first thing in the AM on Thursday (I was waiting at the door when they opened at 7 :D) and spent the next couple of days hauling gravel, compost, and reclaimed asphalt. Also made a trip down to Westport to clean up some Oaks that had blown down over the winter, and with the dump trailer I was able to bring everything back in one trip rather than 3-4.

    20190711_102722_resized.jpg

Got some reclaimed asphalt for the driveway by the house
    20190712_100215_resized.jpg

Should pack in nice and tight by winter :D
    20190713_163819_resized_1.jpg

And got a true driveway started into the lower lot:
    20190713_142855_resized.jpg

    20190713_142920_resized.jpg

May have been hauling outside of my weight class a few times, though. 23600-6600lbs of truck & driver meant I was hauling around 17k of trailer and cargo... :anonymous:

    20190711_114911_resized.jpg

Which meant that I was able to truly get down to @BigMacMcCoy mileage.

What I'd been averaging when I picked the trailer up:
    20190711_064038_resized.jpg

And after two days of trips back and forth to the pit, with lots of idling time:

    20190713_073914_resized.jpg

Also repaired the steps to my back porch, and reset/replaced the improperly-placed posts that had heaved to get the deck back to level.
Some idiot so-called 'contractor' failed to place one of the corner posts below the frost line (just set it on a concrete pad at surface level  ), and used a piece of interior-grade OSB to secure the steps to the deck :der:

    20190715_123401_resized.jpg

    20190715_123405_resized.jpg

And I dug and reset the corner post in concrete to get that below the frost line, plus reset the level on the two posts on the back side (note the shiny new washers

    20190715_164437_resized.jpg

Once it cures completely I'll paint the concrete and lower part of the post with tar to waterproof them and add some longevity.

Also murdered some meat birds for the freezer (60lbs dressed, for 9 birds!), with another 9 scheduled to go in at the beginning of August. 20190712_191437_resized.jpg

I also did a bunch of smaller maintenance stuff, like mowing/weedwhacking, dropped 8-10 trees on the uphill/back side of the house (leaning in towards the house), scrubbed a bunch of brush & burned it, power washed the entire house, the garage, & both decks, recaulked my gutters, changed the oil in the tractor and the trucks, etc.
I'm beat. My hands, arms, & legs are all bruised and cut and I wore out a brand new set of leather work gloves in 6 days. So yesterday around 2pm I decided I'd beat myself up enough and spent the rest of the day on the back deck with a book and some rum instead.
