Wtf happened?

 

I have had that happen. Now I blow out the pan drain line at least once a year. If you have a compressor it doesn't take much time or air pressure to clear the line. You might be able to do it from the outside by mouth pressure. If you go that rout be sure to post a photo.

 

I'd like to put together a HF wheeling trip for August 3rd. Gonna have my boys for visitation. Was thinking of camping somewhere around that time as well. I've got a campground on the lake I can rent spots for $5 a night, so may do that along with some fishing n camp fire stories. Anyone interested, let me know and I can reserve some spots.

I take a different approach. Pour bleach down drain vent a day or two prior to break up any yuckies. Then stick my shop vac on the drain and pour about a gallon of water in the vent to clear the line.

 

Yep wasn’t even really mad, more at myself than anything but already have a mirror and paint matched fender arriving Friday.

I know it's a rent house but if you do one of these ideas you can at least get the A.C. going.

That happened to my first house in Katy. I opened the door to walk into a bedroom that was never used, and noticed sheetrock texture on the floor; not good. I looked up and saw water dripping down. The best thing was that the water was dripping onto a wood framed waterbed, (hey, this was 1994!), so the liner had captured all the water! I just had to replace the a/c coil, blow the mud dauber nest out of the drain hose, and fix the sheetrock. Newer houses don't run those hoses external anymore, but rather into a drain pipe in the attic, to avoid potential clogging.

 

If the drain pan has water in it, there are bigger problems with the A/C unit. The pan is simply used to avoid what happened.

Very true, the main AC condensation drain should be plumbed into your sewer line. If the pan is filling, the main drain is fubar also.

 

Had that happen but the unit was in a hallway closet. Clogged and then our floors got squishy, thankfully caught it quickly. Now diligent about using compressed air to clear it annually.
