After doing axles I'm still hearing a light grinding noise turning at slow speeds. Nothing crazy but some light vibes noticed on highway 45-65 mph. Did my wheel bearings like 2 years ago so it could be them but I'm thinking its most likely the needle bearing. I figure its time to do the ECGS bushing and replace the needle bearing while I'm at it. Wish I would of just done it while I already had the axles out but oh well. Anybody done this and already have the removal and install tools?

81 sucks in any car. Even my parents new cushy Subaru. When we went to AOAA it was even rough in the Tacoma.

These Bilstein 5100 rear shocks gave me 3 years and the oil is all blown out of them and they squeak like crazy not impressed. Any recommendations for reasonably priced shocks that will last longer?

Yep noticed oil on the driver side 6 months ago and noticed the passenger side had gone leaky as well this past weekend. Squeaks are tough to dial in where exactly they are coming from but either way the shocks are blown. If I put my weight on the driver rear end of the bed and bounce around I get major squeakage and minor squeakage on the passenger side. I had my buddy do it while I was under the truck and got my head as close as I could and it seemed to correlate with the movement in the shock and seemed more shock than leaf to me. Fronts still look and feel good.

Damn that sucks to hear. Ive never had any problems out of mine. Have you contacted Bilstein to see if they would warranty or at least offer a discount for replacement? Ive had good luck with that and being nice via customer service emails
