Has anyone added 3rd row seating to their taco bed?

So I love my taco, however, I just ran out of available seating. Has anyone added a seat to their bed that is able to be used legally on the highway and if so please post pics.

My thoughts on doing it are as follows:
In most states the bed has to be covered, and the seat needs seat belts... But not much more is stipulated past that.

I would like to put a bench seat in maybe using a jeep rear seat and mount it rear facing. Was thinking of manufacturing a mount for the seat that would use the existing front and middle bed mount positions. Adding seat belt anchors to the seat mount, and covering everything up with an Alu-Cab with the split window so that I can put a boot between the cab and the shell and A/C the whole thing.

Anyone have thought on this or know of someone who has done it?

Sweet idea, but I think if you had a roll over it would be ugly.

Or.... you could buy a 4runner with 3rd row.

Can't fathom anyway doing this would be at all legal let alone on a Highway/Freeway.

If you don't need the truck bed, and it seems like you don't if you're putting seats back there, trade it in for a 4runner.

Not worth the hassle. A number of states updated the law so that riders could still be in the bed under certain hardship conditions: the riders had to be adults, they had to sit below the bed rails, and all seats with belts need to be occupied first. Check to see if those still apply to your state.

More realistically, this might be a sign that you need a different vehicle. Get yourself a badass 4x4 lifted van.

in all seriousness, if you care at all about the safety of your occupants - do NOT do this.

People who think these ideas do exist... Actually they are the whole reason you even have automobiles today. That aside, I have been looking at a 4runner as an option but I would have to give up a MT and 2+ feet of bed space I would still have and my increased towing capabilities... The list does go on. Understood that the backlash would come... But please be open minded and helpful.

maybe a larger, full size SUV would be able to provide you the space / towing capability you want to keep while also giving you additional storage. ie. toyota sequoia, chevy tahoe/suburban, ford expedition, etc.
