Got the 5th wheel/tire rotated in on the initial tire rotation with the 285/70 Goodyear Ultraterrain ATs.

Went ahead and bought the 5th TPMS while at @Discount Tire (for less than $44 for the sensor, install, and re-syncing upon rotating it onto the back driver spot and OF COURSE sales tax...)

The entire crew at my local DT has been great to work with, and are very customer driven...the one guy who pulled the full spare and went to mount the TPMS asked if I off-road a lot, or just live in the country (with all the mud and dust covered wheel/tires and sliders/bottom door panels)! I told him it's just country living...as we live down about 0.2mi of rutted out dirt and gravel road. Unfortunately, now that we've been out there for just shy of a year, Car Washes are far far too temporary given our new "country" house location!

Those decals stick to the paint real good. I had mine on about a week and decided to take it off.

Yes foam rubber around the parameter that looks pretty tight (for dust). Caveat 1) this means being sure you adjust the latch hooks to keep lid tight. 2) Caveat 2-these seals wear out over time and I’ve had to in the past replace them on other boxes.

Don’t get me wrong, this box is pretty good for the price. And you can go to Lowe’s and check it out. It is not intended to be the high end market, (nor is the price- it is aluminum- commodity price applies, if you double the thickness you double the supply cost). I’d imagine if I overfilled it with heavy tools and anvils it will stress it. I have my recovery and jacking supplies, small hand tools and wheel chicks. About 100 lbs balanced out with no noticeable deflection.

It is defiantly hot here. Summer has arrived. Thankful I don't have to be out in it.

Took Miles (my '19 Limited) in for his 5,000 mile service. I mentioned that I felt a shudder when braking from high speeds. Six hours later, I returned to pick up my truck and was informed that my rear axles need to be replaced.

Evidently, there is a TSB out for this issue. Something about axel flanges being "out of round." Anyone else hear of this? I could not find a thread discussing here.

I left the dealership with a loaner Rav4 (I refused the Yaris). Driving the Rav4 around has made me realize how much I enjoy driving my Tacoma. The Rav4 is so...meh...to drive. I actually look forward to getting into my truck every morning and afternoon. I enjoy being a Taco Snob on the road and mentally noting how much better-looking my Tacoma is than that Colorado or Ranger next to me. Love my Taco. Can't wait to get Miles back.

I'm 160 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico on a floating oil production platform. It's 96°F in the shade with 95% humidity. The top deck is metal and is 136°F with a temperature gun. Less just say it's a tad bit warm. Summer is definitely here!

I know all about living on steel. I use to be a 1st Mate on a 35 barge coal tow running the lower Mississippi from St. Louis to New Orleans. I miss my time on the river but not on days like these. :)
