I have a TRD supercharger for the Toyota 5VZ-FE engine that has a damaged housing, specifically, one of the mounting "ears" is broken. Is it possible to have it welded? It should be far enough away from the rotor bores to not distort them due to the heat.

Just what caused the ear to fail ?

The hardest part with used Aluminum auto parts is getting them clean enough to get a good weld .

Have you looked for a used housing??

Jobs like this are a hard call to make without being up close and in person.

If you can find a local shop that will attempt the job my guess would be between $300.00 to $500.00 maybe much more

Make sure the welder is a master and extremely good with tig welding. Good luck.

Tig weld, machine the bottom surface to make sure it's flat. No problem with cast aluminum for a good welder.

The housing was damaged when the vehicle was involved in a crash.
I have, but no luck so far.

A good welder that's used to cast aluminum shouldn't have to much of an issue if they can heat all the impurities out to get a clean weld.

Probably going to be 300-500ish to have it welded then fly cut the face so it's flat. That's about what I would charge without seeing it in person.

Not yet. A couple of more pressing issue have arisen, so this is on the back burner for awhile.

I had the housing welded. The welds themselves look great, but the welder didn't appear to jig the pieces up very well. I'm guessing they are about .080 too high and obviously will have to be milled.

That is what makes a job like this expensive.

The set up and prep time.

I am hoping you have a Milling machine or your adding more cost to the project .
