Since overlanding is all about RTTs and I need to know how many maxtraxs to stack under my tires, I followed @Nimble9 and got some levels for the rear roof rack:

    Got more beef from BAMF:

And now my crossbrace is complete:

But how do you know it was level when installed? Also one bolt I can see someone messing with you and just giving it a little tilt so you are off kilter just a tad

Today should be cooler to apply the adhesive backing to the roof rack. Yesterday was too hot and the glue probably would have melted and popped off. Using the bolt was (1) a test fit and (2) so they don't come flying off the on the highway or in the extreme heat once completely mounted. Idk how good the glue is.

The garage is more level than the driveway as it is pitched away from the house which you can see in the photo. Had a wedding yesterday and simply ran out of time to finish. I'll pull it in the garage and finish mounting today while the wife is at a bridal shower.

@ovrlndkull i lied to you and I'm sorry! I forgot that not all malls are the same.

Forgot about the X and Y axis'. Moved a level to the rear bumper and used the adhesive to mount it. Kept both levels on the driver's side for ease of use.

    0A624092-75F0-494C-8E5F-ABF3F2E9F646.jpg

Going to get some new hardware for the swingout lever too and clean up the residue.

I also ordered some rock guards for the Kongs that I hope ship and arrive soon. Gotta protect my investment at the mall.

As far as the rest of the week, I need to get the truck ready, gone over and prepped for the ORV park this weekend.

Suspension update: got the funds figured out for everything, but due to shitty apps being incompetent fuckwads, it will be delayed a little longer until everything gets figured out. Shooting for a week or two to place the order once everything is figured out. Deavers up first.

By the way, they caught the gator. They named it 'Chance the Snapper'

Took two guys, first one didn't get the job done so they flew someone out from FL (IIRC) and he caught it yesterday morning. Homeboy threw out the first pitch at the cubs game last night:

Gotta say though, for as much hype as there was, that's a little ass gator. 5 foot, sure, but it's all tail!

Bitch ass gator for sure. If we were trying to compete with Florida, I would expect a 15 footer minimum..cause some actual panic. They better put him in the zoo and charge a shit ton o'money...gotta be reimbursed for the first wanna be 'swamp people' asshat that couldn't "git-er-dun". Whole exhibit with a story board, "gator" on a stick that's really just chicken...full send mode.

If there had been a Xteen footer, the homies wouldn't have narc'd on him. But the evidence disposal opportunities would have been amazing!

Looking to beef up the rear suspension with the addition of a high-clearance bumper and dual swinger (along with a RTT... don't judge). I am about to order Deaver Lvl3 springs. However, you mentioned a local shop ordering them... and you mentioned custom. Tell me more...

Yeah. I thought that having a local shop 2.5 miles from my house that is a Deaver vendor would be AWESOME. Turns out, it is cheaper to order them from a TW vendor on the west coast and get them delivered than have them sent to the Deaver vendor's shop; approximately $250 cheaper. And, that shop I mentioned near me, tried selling me on having the leaf springs powdercoated.

You can call Deaver and tell them what your are looking for and they will build a custom pack. For example, that is what the suspension God @jberry813 did. He has a custom stage III u402 set that can support 1300lbs. I have also read that if you get your leaf packs from them "off-the-shelf" and you need to make adjustments, they will send you additional leafs to add or replace with to get you what you need. Great customer service.

@jberry813 What do you carry to justify a 1300 lb spring? I think i figured with my bumper, RTT and all gear I would be in the 700-750 lb zone. I'm I way the F off?

    ...too much shit to list.

Ever weigh your truck camp loaded and compared it to what it weighed off the lot? Cause I have.

Sliders, 1/4” skids, bumpers, swingout, 35s, 10 gallons gas, 82 qt fridge, Drifter, supercharger, long travel, 2.5” King coilovers and triple bypasses up front, 12” triple bypass and 2.0 bumps in the rear, frame plates, tools, spare parts, 78 pound mutt, enough beer to kill a horse, it all adds up really really fast. Don’t assume, actually weigh your truck.

So if I'm going to do up the rear end suspension right (the 2nd time)... Deaver Lvl 3 springs probably isn't a bad place to start all things considered. It's is done... (assumptions made... sorry to disappoint)!
