    Lots of heat Oxy-Fuel at least propane not near hot enough waste of time .

    Kroil might help doubtful it would wick high enough

    Kinda got back burnered for a few other home projects...like unsticking a threaded washer hose (a trend perhaps?). Ended up having to hacksaw the bitch off.

    May have to go after it with a big ol pipewrench. Turns out they are way less expensive than I thought.

    Any thought about drilling a small sight hole just above the flared portion of the pole? A peek inside might also give you a better idea of what your dealing with. It’ll actually give you access to hose down the inside with krill or Pb blaster and the like.

    You plan on keeping the pole or repair/replacing?
    Also thinking that once it comes loose all that leveraged weight will be a bit unruly to control as it comes down. Like chopping down a tall tree.

    I'd like to just refinish it and remount it, which is why I didn't just cut it off with a sawzall.

    And that's why I want to enlist @MurphTaco. I don't need a flagpole embedded in my roof.

    The sight hole is something you can use to remove it and a small plug weld will close it back up. Hope that helps.
