Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!

    Whoa, whoa, whoa... Back up.

Our Gen3 ECUs can read and display the pressure for a 5th sensor?

Very nice. Seeing the roof rack reminds me that I have to move that higher on my mods list. But I ain't payin' the $340.00 OEM price.

    wanna be mods
I had the same concern, I know the guy had to scan them at least twice it appeared and then took the reader dongle into the cab and had to program/update tpms sensor id to clear the light off the dash.

I, after reading about this subject on the threads here figured it would be a bit more of a process and that DT might be charging me labor for syncing each rotation...apparently just buying their sensor on the 5th wheel via DT for install is all that we have to do! I know I read somewhere on another thread that the tire place was charging $20 to swap either sensors into spare rotation tire/wheel, or they charged for reprogramming the ECU to accept the new/5th sensor...

Honestly, I'm going to test if it is actually the OEM sensor that is now in the spare rotation tire/wheel, vs. the back driver tire (aka move "back driver tire" pressure up to 40 vs. 36 on other and spare)...then drive and see if the tpms readout on the dash is correct.

I don't know much else, sad to say...I'll update once I get this test done.

Okay, thanks for replying and I, for one, would be really interested in what you find with your test.

I thought I remember reading somewhere on this site that Gen2s had the fifth sensor and readout, and that Toyota "cheaped-out" on the Gen3s.

I recently had to have all my tire sensors synced with the ECU (hadn't been done when I had wheels/tires changed) AND I also had one bad sensor. I took it to Discount Tire and they just charged me for the new sensor, even though it took a couple of the guys a few go-arounds with their handheld diagnostic units to get everything talking to everything else (they were having some trouble with the tool).

2018! Not even the current model! I would have been semi-interested in driving one of those. They do look much better than the previous model.

Installed AAL to my med Dakar’s. Supposed to give me a little over half an inch of lift in the rear. It’s sitting a full inch higher right now tho. We’ll see how it settles. So happy to get my rake back
