Read every one of the 94 pages. Thanks to everyone who posted so far. Here is my build. I used 3/4" baltic birch plywood top and bottom with 1/2" sides and divider. I cut holes in the bottom platform to reduce weight. Kind of in a rush to get it usable so drawers will be built a bit later, but as of now I'm planning on trying to use solely UHMW polyethylene strips to make sliders, poly on poly contact. The right side of my platform is removable so that an ARB 82 QT refrigerator can sit inside the right side drawer. I added reinforcement to that side so the removable panel has better support. I think I'll be drilling holes for better ventilation also. I found the carpet at Ikea, 59.99 for the exact amount of carpet needed for a 57"x71" platform, but I did have to do some cutting and piecing in to make it have full coverage (the carpet came as 6'5"x4'6".) All in all I'm very happy with the outcome and I'll be using it this week. Mattress is a 3" memory foam mattress topper from costco, queen size and cut for length. Width was about 58 or 59" but it squishes in just fine to 57". Sleeping bag is one I've had for 10 years, its called the Grizzly. It is amazing for truck camping.

I tried low friction sliders first, then transfer bearings. Both end up less than satisfactory after any dirt or grit contaminates them. So far, 1 1/2" urethane dolly wheels are the lightest, have held up the best, make drawer removal tool free, and have less space lost to hardware than drawer slides. They stay aligned simply by rolling in the bed grooves making side framing irrelevant.

I took up the full 60" for both drawers too. It actually pulls out even farther and there is additional drawer space behind that cutting board area lol.

I like this the most because this 1 is probably the closest to weather proofing it that i've seen. Hows the road noise/offroad noise?

Do you have pics of your drawers being built and a link to the wheels you used? I’m really liking your idea!

Ive been getting ready to start my drawer. Wont be sleeping on it though.

It will be outdoors all of the time. I guess im going to need to stain it, and seal the joints with silicone. I might also put the horsemat on the top for my other storage boxes.

Plan is to make a 5ft drawer to fit in my long bed. I have stuff in the front of my bed that im not moving (2nd battery, air tank). Its just going to be used for recovery gear, quick camping goodies.

I plan on using 3/4" for the top, a 2x6 for a cross piece, and 2x8 for the vertical leg in the middle? Goal is under 150lbs
