Something that has saved me from deer collisions is to remind myself if you see one deer cross the road, others are most likely following, so if I see one up ahead I make sure to wait a little before passing.

They don’t always walk out in front of you. When I wacked one, it waited until the last second and sacrificed itself unto my bumper and other various plastic parts.

I usually encounter deer on backcountry roads and have always slowed enough to not hit the deer or followers, but yeah sometimes the deer makes the choice for you.

I haven't hit no deer with my ARB bumper but I've hit some huge rocks in the mud before but their super solid and thick.

Whistle things work wonders for the manufacture not so much for vehicle protection. Had them on company trucks. We called them come here deer whistles. Deer collisions went up after installing them. I actually had a deer run into truck sitting in road not running while I unlocked a gate.

It was a quick death. Deer can be suicidal.

Plus it doesn’t really show anything. Gore wise.

My parents always put them on their cars. My mom always seemed to find deer anyways.

I told her that her next vehicle is a used T4R with a steel bumper.

I've hit a squirrel or two and caught a low flying hawk but nothing as large as a deer although I've had a few dart past. If they come out of "nowhere" and you're cursing along there's not much you can do. At least there's not too much damage to the truck and everyone's safe... well except the deer of course. Now that bear's another thing. That's one tough SOB.

I keep wondering when natural selection is going to kick in and all the neurotic deer are going to be killed off from collisions. Hasn't happened yet.

Noticed title changed... This is what it would look like if you actually hit one doing ~50-60mph. Video shows a good amount of deceleration. Cam speedo clearly not very responsive. 17' pro no TSS hit it a split second after my foot hit the brake pedal. $7000 in damage $2900 just for the headlights (broken mounting tabs)

Lucky it wasn't worse for you.
