    Lots coming soon...
Excellent! I went with the K02 as well (265/75/16) E rated version as I think these will be the best choice or a mix of dirt/ road use and should also be reasonably easy to find replacements.

You’ll be fine with the payload issue.

I’ve got 73k miles running at a GVWR of 5900 lbs during normal conditions with my tools from work. No trailer just toolboxes and gear in the back seat.

The most I’ve had in my bed was around 2500lbs.

Only mod to compensate for the weight is Firestone air bags. They’ve worked flawlessly.

Wow! That’s a lot of weight and very good to know. Have you had any clutch/wheel bearing/issues?

    Stock clutch & wheel bearings.

I only complain about the clutch if I add a trailer. First gear & reverse are too tall without excessive slipping or putting the truck in 4 low when starting on any sort of incline.

The most I've ever towed was around 7500 lbs but that was for a short distance.

The most I've towed for an extended period was around 5900 lbs. Towed a mini excavator back to Ohio from Indiana. (400 miles one way).

Hey OP. There’s a new mod on the forum now; 2Lo that might have some value to you on this trip. Plug and play electronic switch. If you can’t find the thread and are interested, let me know and I’ll dig it up. I’m planning on it.

E-Range KO2's would be my first choice for where you are going.

Find a way to have a new set waiting for you around every 20k miles down the pike. Fresh solid rubber will save avoidable humbug.

That’s just what we’re hoping to do, although I’m hoping I can go 50k using a 5 tire rotation

No definitely not. We are installing this week OME BP 51s and Dobinson heavy duty rear springs

I agree. Used the Tacoma to pull an empty U-Haul car carrier trailer and it would not even pull it in first gear on a 20% hill. Had to shift into four low. Considering the weight that we’re carrying we are installing Nitro 5.29 gears

Personally would have selected Yokohama G003 or Cooper St Maxx. They will be better in almost every aspect. The KO2 are decent but not great at anything and below par in rain or snow.

I agree with you otherwise. It’s just hard to beat the k02 for being known and sold the world over. Questionable Wet and snow Traction aside, they are durable tires for sure.

We use KO2s as our main work tire on F150s where they have to contend with snow-covered roads for about 4 months of the year. Coming from our foresters they seem to like them.
