I drove a full sized Tundra from ‘08 to ‘19. How did I ever manage to get through it? Reading through some of these posts you’d think it was like driving an Abrams. At work, we were at three times capacity for the building we occupied. The parking lot at worked was so crammed that we had to borrow space from the Army Reserve unit up the street on their lot to put some of our service rides in it in order to free up space for the privately owned vehicles on our own lot.

On any given day, you had to do some serious navigating to get around in it and get your truck parked, yet somehow we all survived. I now know that we were wrong and couldn’t possibly have done any of that without a SB Tacoma.

It must have all been a dream like that tv show in the 80’s where the guy wasn't really shot and he had just imagined it all? Yeah, I guess that’s it...

Some of you people are hilarious... :D

Edited to add that I totally get having a small garage and not being able to fit a full sized truck. I’m in the same boat right now. But all the whining about a LB Taco being too long and hard to park in a lot, etc...

You know what? Go ahead and just keep it up for the entertainment value...

Are you equating gas efficiency to quality?

Has Toyota ever said the Tacoma would be the most gas efficient truck produced? Look at any other midsize truck. They aren’t any more gas efficient than their full-size counterparts. Not sure why anyone would be surprised by your “discovery”.

Its 2019....Ford makes an equal to or better than quality vehicle than Toyota. More features, more tech. Etc. Etc.

I'm not equating gas efficiency to quality but when my 10,000 pound diesel sucking, 20 foot long dually than tows 32000 pounds gets 15.5 MPG and my Tacoma gets 13.5........something ain't right!

Tech does not equate to quality either. If anything, having more tech decreases quality. There is a reason why Toyota’s are more reliable than Lexus. My truck is also getting around 13.5mpg, but I knew what I was getting into when I bought a truck, when I lifted it, and when I installed 33” tires. Granted they’re not trucks, but my girlfriends family has own numerous ford vehicles and ALL of them had to have the DCT clutches replaced multiple times with well under 100k, can’t say that about my moms corolla with over 280k miles.

ford makes crap. i personally know the new focus'es were crap due to throttle issues and i believe auto trans on them and fiestas were crap. The ford mustang is crap due to the typewriter tick and ford saying a random typewriter noise from the engine is normal. They don't elaborate. And with some people having engine failures on new stangs, i don't trust what ford says.

You may say that the 3.5 in our tacos make noise too and you are correct BUT the big difference is that toyota actually states why!!! It's in the manual as i recall. The whole fule injector self clean thing.

Ford just says "it all nomal. sawwwy". but boy oh boy, you go in after warranty is up, "you need a new mota suh- ate tousand dollahs". No thanks. My 2019 stang was my first and last new ford. Eff ford. Hard. I love my taco. it is light years ahead of any crap ford product in terms of quality feel and perceived reliability and hopefully eventually reliability. And i have drove plenty fords as loaners while my stang was in the shop. And even the glorious f150.. No thanks.

Go for a long highway drive going 65mph. You still get 13.5mpg? If so, then yes, something ain't right. Take it to the dealer.

And don’t forget that they installed the wrong headgaskets
Good god I wish I ever got that. Speed limits here are 70, and I don’t have a radar detector for no reason....... I drove about 65 miles one way to buy a new phone last weekend, fairly consistent 65-75 MPH driving and I think I averaged about 14.5-15.
In his defense I will say I average about the same, but I accelerate about as quick as I can without drawing attention to myself, and I nearly always have the cruise set on 75, with my tire setup that doesn’t pan out too great MPG wise.

I don't really have a pony in this show (I'm an excellent parker (growing up a farm boy and backing all sorts of things into small spaces) but also understand how longer vehicles are more difficult to park then shorter vehicles.

That said, your aggressive assertions/opinions and clear pride in your own ability regarding parking long vehicles in tight spaces does give one pause to consider that you may be over-compensating for something...

Is that why they stopped making most of their cars because quality was great and sales booming ?
