Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Thanks... The question is whether or not, after installing a sensor in the spare, if the spare's pressure is displayed on the center console once it's been "registered" with the ECU.

It's *possible* (although this would be somewhat evil in my mind) for the ECU to take the spare's pressure into account when deciding if the TPMS error light should be lit, but not displaying the pressure at the console (again, evil).

Dude let me know how you wire everything up and take some pics!
I've got the Cobra 19 and I'm thinking about same mounting location. Haven't pulled the trigger on the rest of the stuff needed. All I have is the radio

So I didn't get to testing via inflating the former spare w/ DT sensor, but I can attest that the sensor reading stays in line with the other 3 as I drive both in the am and pm commute, which avg total is 82mi. This morning the 3 oem sensors read 34, DT 33, by the time I had been on 70mph interstate for over 10 mi. they were all reading 37. I doubt the spare would change (if our 3rd gens could handle 5 sensors) that much just from a 4* increase in temp. during that span of driving/distance while tucked up under the bed.

I think they just have to cycle out the tire going into the spare rotation spot...vs. having all 5 stored? I'll ask them when I take her back in for the next rotation.

I will, FYI Im also using industrial strength velcro to hold the radio to the side. with the truck being 3 days old im not sure i want to drill into anything visible yet. I have given up on the 29 and i bought a president bill Cb radio ($95 on ebay). Its smaller and better suited for this cab. Ill keep you updated

I will need to check into this. I still have my take-offs with the TPMS in them. I will use one as a test spare tire.

Which fogs are those? Squadron, pro or DOT? I’m interested to hear your thoughts on output and dispersion. Nice!

Looked back at a 2016 thread on this very same subject. The 5th tire will not be displayed.
My TPMS scanner will read/write the spare info IF the vehicle allows it.

Thanks, but I guess I misunderstood your original post on the subject. My real question was whether or not our Gen3s can handle (and display) all 5 pressure sensors at the same time (provided that 5th one was installed in the spare). I was under the impression that Gen2s could do this. Seems like it would be good to know if your spare is properly inflated or not, especially for people that go off-roading, even though that's not really the purpose of TPMS (gov't mandate to improve fuel economy, the spare doesn't count).

@pdenajim has generously volunteered to look into this.

<edit> ...and we have the answer. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-3rd-gen-today.399305/page-6480#post-21109253

Again, bummer, but thanks much for looking into this. :hattip:

<edit> On the bright side, the few bucks I spent for an extension hose to check the spare pressure at the bumper wasn't wasted. Yes, I know I could just flip the spare over so the valve stem is down and towards the rear, but I'm getting old and lazy and more resistant to crawling under there for any reason.
