Yes, VVTI. Not true, all the vvti 4.7L motors make the same power. Plus the 4Runner was totally built in Japan so higher quality all across

Oh I thought the 4runner vvti engines were 260hp. Tundras 282. But I may be wrong. But if you had a tundra base model ecu you wouldn’t need to worry about the immobiliser

My Taco has one (double cab) and I’m not sure if the tundra ECU would even work. The one from the 4Runner is plug and play aside from some minor re-pinning because the whole front clip is essentially the same

Hmm that’s a good point. Eh immobiliser shouldn’t be to hard to get setup. The ecu may need a reseed at a dealer so you can program a key though

Or tech stream more likely. It’s not as easy as you say though. Here’s a diagram of how the immobilizer works80D3AF98-7419-441A-8D30-0A12F7A3FCCA.jpg

A dealer is the only one that can reseed as far as I know. You need the transponder coil and amplifier which should be part of the ignition ring light and you need the transponder ecu. Then it should just be wiring. If you have a key from the 4runner you might be able to just program a new key through tech stream.

That’s why I asked for pics because my thinking is to swap all the parts (hoping they are interchangeable) down to the driver door lock and then no trip to the dealer (here I’m sure I’d pay through the nose) will be required.

Taco to 4runner should be close. I’ll see if I can get the PDF wiring diagram and instructions for you.

Dash is out, cleaning the mess up, running some wires for future upgrades, fun stuff
    [IMG]

Oh and I’m probably the only person that does something like this, but painted the dash bar in steel-it, because fuck rust

Front bumpers mounted (no trim on it yet), Rear bumpers mounted, fogs in, all lights work. dash is back in, skid plat is straightend out and the side skirt pieces are on... shes getting there. aiming for next week to give her over to the body shop for the final bit of body work.
