So sometimes a spur of the moment thing is good
    Sometimes not.
So was thinking of fishing in my first tournament on my lake Sunday.
Yea what the hell just to say I did it.
    Don't like the crowd etc.
So called the guy and said Yeup sigh up when you get there.
    Ok

So sitting and got a text from another guy I know and is in the tournament.
I won't show the pic cause it has names and such.
Someone caught a 5 1/2 pound bass and tied it to a undewater tree so it wouldn't get away.
So during the tournament they would just pretend they were fishing and pick it up.
So I called the guy back and said forget it.

If they had just shut up they could have caught the sob red handed...
    Oh well...

There was a guy out of San Diego who got caught cheating after years of cheating. I'll see if I can find the story. Basically he was hiding fish in his livewell he'd caught at other reservoirs that had bigger fish or hiding fish along the banks. He claimed all kinds of prize money as well as set bogus records. Along the way some people thought it all strange but never had proof until much later when they caught him with fish in a tank in his garage and it all came unravelled.

Every lake and river has those guys. They all get found out sooner or later. The best part is when they start backpedaling with the ridiculous lies.

So. The truck is washed with 4 dry days in the forecast. Not sure which of those two facts is most amazing.

Extreme heat warning for the next 4 days. . I'm staying in for the rest of the day.

I stayed home. The girls are here for summer vacation and their mom and my wife had to work. I didn't feel like working anyway.

They are in storage but I think I have some of his magazine covers. I’ve never gone in for tournaments but I’ve always heard rumblings about snaggers and early morning tie ups but this dude was reinventing the hustle.

Inspiring investigative writing and kudos to the author.

I remember reading an article about a couple guys who looked like they had won a big money tournament, upon further inspection the bigass fish wasn’t the correct species for the spring feed lake they was working outa. The lake was in Arkansas or somewhere round those parts n the bigass fish was commonly found in central Texas

San Diego county has quite a few lakes and reservoirs and they are very diverse is size and coloration of

I've always just enjoyed being out there. My son is just starting out and is in the frustrated stage. I haven't been fishing since before we left SD. Still have a couple more years before I can get back to it.

My 9 year old son is in love with bait casting so we do that allot here on the stocked pond we have on our property. Catch and release and keep them wet are practiced constantly which has been fun for him as he’s the one at his Scout events that gets to help with the fishing events and help teach it to other kids. Hoping to get him a fly rod as a reward for grades after school starts to see how it works out for him.
