Hi all, have a quick question about rattles. I recently purchased a new 2019 TRD OR and I love the truck, with the exception of having to get the hood replaced when the adhesive broke. Normally I don't even care about rattling, but it's just annoying me an extra amount considering how this is a new, expensive vehicle. :)

I've hit about 1,200 miles and I have rattling in both the passenger A pillar and the rear driver's side, pretty significant around 45 mph. I've already taken it in once and they "couldn't replicate the issue" (BS). Are rattles common with the 3rd gen? If so, any suggestions on common issues that cause rattling so I can try to fix it myself?

I've looked around at some threads here but on a cursory look they didn't seem to match my issues. Any suggestions appreciated, thanks!

I haven't noticed any, but I wouldn't put up with it. Go back and have a tech come with you on the drive to document the issue.

No! Rattling is not normal. Do you have any photos/video of where the rattle is coming from?

A-pillar is a common one and super easy fix, just stick a piece of foam tape or dynomat material and wedge it in between dash and A-pillar. Fixed mine in 30 seconds (one guy even just wedged in a couple tooth picks).

Never heard of the rear one though that will take a little investigating. Most other common one is from above where the crawl control is, that one just had to pull it down and add some insulating foam pretty easy fix too.

Thanks for the info. I had tried that before with no effect, but I'll find something a little wider and try again for the A-pillar.

I don't, but I'm going to get some before going in again. It's tough to tell, but it seems to be coming from around the lower door area of the rear left (and no, there's nothing in the compartment :p).

So this thought is out of the box, but you might want to check to see if there are any rocks up in your skid plate rattling around.

The best way to deal with the rattles when you bring your truck in is to go for a ride with the tech and reproduce the issue. Make sure everything is out of the truck. Nothing in the box, behind the seats, even in the glove box. Remove everything so that it can't be used as a reason for the rattle. I love it when customers bring in there vehicle and complain of rattles then leave a case of empties on the back seat.
