    Yo dawg
    I heard you like boost
So I got boost to put on your boost so you can boost while you’re boosting

A supercharger and turbocharged engine based been done, it's a rather stupid and pointless setup, and incredibly complex and complicated. I'm curious how good the large SC would be better down low cause larger wheel and more airflow.

From my understanding(not a pro by any means) But the centrifugal will only make peak boost at max RPM. Since the boost is not linear like a positive displacement supercharger. So down low, it's only delivering a fraction of it's potential boost output. How that translates in the Tacoma down low.. I have no clue. Proper sizing of the charger is probably a big factor too.

That is true of the centrifugal models yes, but im not 100% if the larger blower at a lower RPM will be better or no difference at all, I doubt it will do much low, mainly all top end. The blowers your referring to are the Screw type, which yes, if a 3.5 V6 could fit one, I would BE all over that model over the TTs, mainly cause they sound amazing, only thing near them in sound is the Turbo blow off.

So when Magnuson releases theirs (it will happen), will Matt create a calibration for his existing customers that want to go that route, or will we be SOL?

Also curious for the same if say I wanted to build my own turbo setup, do to preference of components I would put in vs what is in the kit. (None of which is bad, just not how I would do it for myself)

I won't make a decision until magnuson releases theirs. HP Tuners was close to having our ecus done a few months back, which I'm pretty certain magnuson was waiting for. I have more faith in Matts programming then an off the shelf HP file any day though.

How can Matt make a tune for something he hasn't seen? There's so many variables with a tune. I can guarantee Matt will make tunes based on shit he's personally tested. Nothing else.

The same way many other tuners do. A base file and logging, tweaking, logging. This is not a new concept at all.

Magnuson doesn’t deserve Mat’s help. They better bring some briefcases full of cash if they’d like him to crack that ecu for them.

I forgot the ECU in Tacoma is way more advanced then the rest of the automotive world.

Matt is plenty competent in the tuning department. Weather he is willing to do any sort of custom tuning (like it says you get when you buy the OV package) or not is up to him.

Why wouldn't you want more options for hardware?

I would. But I'd much prefer a solid, stable tune over a generic. There's too many variables. Sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too, especially with maf vs map

Maybe you misunderstood what I was trying to say(or im terrible at explaining which is also very likely). I too would like a solid tune, hence hoping Matt would do custom tunes. I would not want the generic/canned tune that would come with a magnuson.

The guys expecting low end improvement with the rotrex are in for a huge let down. However the truck should scream in the top end of the rev range.

This is the main reason I changed my minds to the twins. (Well, plus the sound):anonymous:

That's weird because I have a 2.0 K03 and a 3.5 turbo on my work bench and the one off the 2.0 is larger. I'll have to try and remember to look at them tomorrow morning and post a picture of them side by side.

Great, now I'm not sure which one I would like. The 3.5 already loves to rev, slap something that makes it screams even more at the top end? Sounds like a plan.... But the appeal of a TT setup is strong.....

The twins should shine across the entire rev range. Plus if the engine and drivetrains prove stout enough, turning it up later is always easy.

My only concern with the kit is the oil drain.
