I swear I had a nightmare last night that I walked into the garage and still had more filler pieces to cut and weld :bananadead:

forgot to attach the pic of the exterior of the tub all sealed. Stuff says 24 hour cure time so I'll have to wait to tomorrow to get some primer and paint on there

A friend hit me up last minute about running T33 plane crash to break in her new 4runner. Despite the weather being 50 and rainy we ran into a lot of traffic on the trail. There were a large number of people in rental SXS bombing up and down the trail, bouncing over the rocks and a group of jeeps that apparently left a bunch of trash and beer cans at the plane crash parking lot. Given how busy it was I wouldn't run it on a sunny day, that's for sure.

We started on the Camp Dick side near where MSV trail starts

Not even 5k miles and already on the trail lifting tires

    IMG_20190622_130449.jpg

The plane crash is neat and worth checking out. I'm amazed that there's still so much wreckage left behind that hasn't walked off with past visitors

Coming down was nice because there was much left traffic since it was after 4 in the afternoon.

I'm overall very content with how the truck handles though lower gears are a must. On the road 5th is pretty much unusable although I did get about 17mpg (after correcting for tire size) driving to Boulder and back in 4th at 50-70mph. On the trail 1st and 4low is still too fast for my liking and I stalled the truck a few times braking while trying to control my descent down ledges

I also needt to add some more BBs to my tires; they balance out til about 50 then it's like riding in a paint shaker so the drive there and back sucked a bit.

After spending about 50 minutes waiting for my little Masterflow compressor to fill our tires I am eyeballing the ARB twin although the price stings

She has an armoured TJ on 35s with ARBs front and rear and all of the other goodies... her plan is to keep the 4runner stock but we'll see if she gets bitten by the bug after wheeling it :D

The old chrome bumper cover had rubbed a hole through my ac condenser line. I replaced it and the dryer and have working AC again, though it's not as cold as I'd like. I evacuated the system and also kept it under vacuum to make sure it was sealed before I charged it.

    IMG_20190627_193049.jpg IMG_20190627_194817.jpg IMG_20190627_195916.jpg IMG_20190627_195950.jpg IMG_20190629_161301.jpg

Relocated my horns from the grille to the passenger fender and made a new harness for them. Not sure where they'll end up but I wanted to keep them away from my new AC condenser

Been grinding through some stuff before my trip on the 25-28th. I did a bunch of AC work but had a shop evac the system because it wasn't functioning right. I still want to replace the expansion valve and clean the evaporator then have it recharged if I have time...but other things take priority

My rack is only 2 years old and has 10k or so mi on it but the bushings were trash! I got the energy suspension poly kit to replace them but the project has turned out less than straightforward.

The shop that did the rack stripped the nut on the center rack bolt so I had to sacrifice a Harbor Freight socket. I ground the edge down so I could get a better weld since it was on there good n toight

    IMG_20190718_213419.jpg

Then, the top stud on the passenger side hold down was stripped for the first 1/8 or so so I had to do a little customization to be able to get the nut on.

    IMG_20190716_203722.jpg IMG_20190718_200432.jpg

The rack is bolted back in but I still need to re install the diff drop and the tie rod ends as well as put the skid on. I might as well do an oil change too while I have everything off, right? :bananadead:

    Oh yeah...
Something came in the mail! I didn't realize the box was ripped so when I picked it up it fell out and dented the heat sink :annoyed:

Didn't get a lot done today but I did a bit.
Got the diff bolted back in after unbolting it for new rack bushings.

Cleaned the evaporator core coils, flushed the lines, replaced the expansion valve, and am pulling a vacuum.

Still need to undo the rack and reattach the cross member for my bud built skids that I forgot to install initially :bananadead:
