2007 2.7 L Tacoma single cab manual I had to rebuild done at porters garage in RiversideI paid almost 4000 for it I learned from the mechanic they did not touch the valves or the O-rings i use about a quart every 60 miles they simply rebuilt the top of the engine and pistons which Toyota had done a month earlier for 3800 but apparently didn’t do it right because water got into my cylinder does any of this sound normal

Welcome to TW! :hattip:This is not normal at all. Why didn't you take it back to the Toyota dealer to fix their previous work? After 1 month, their work still would be warrantied.

OP, sorry to hear about the money pit but you have a real problem now. Because major work was done by another place after that of the dealership the dealership is going to tell you that it is not their problem anymore. But let me guess this one, the current garage is going to say that is the best they could do because the dealership botched their work. The never ending circle of blame.

You need to at least give the current garage doing the most recent major work the opportunity to fix the thing. And I'm not sure what you mean when you say that water got into the cylinder. Do you mean antifreeze made its way in, water from washing, water from too deep a crossing, what? And what was the result, hydrolock, steam from the exhaust? Some more information is needed.
