Alignments are like $145 for 3 years. Jesus, maintenance is required when owning a vehicle. Same applies to leases. My 2004 Sierra needed TREs at 60k, and ball joints at 70k. For fucks sake, it’s not like the truck is falling apart...

26k miles and I’m OffRoad 1-3 times a week, only alignment I needed was when I did lift and 285s. Only recall was the sensor and it has never been a issue before.

I remember when cats would donate vital body parts to get a whiff of what the third gen would be like. Turbocharged diesel FTW! Some folks predicted there would be hiccups when it first came out. Those were the sage, old, surly ones. But typically a few years after a new gen launches Toyota works out the bugs. Doesn't seem to be the case here. So perhaps it's diminishing quality and, let's be honest, a more sensitive customer base (not OP) that is busting the turd gen bubble?

I’m at 14K miles and my free alignment timeframe ended at 12K they said. Sorry but no vehicle at 1 year old should need an alignment.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
You either did something you weren't supposed to do to it, or something underneath didn't get tightened right. You should not need an alignment at 14k. Shit, I'm at 114k and it drives straight as an arrow. Pony up a $100 to an alignment shop and figure it out.

Weird.....I’ve had a couple new cars and all of them were out of spec when I took them in for alignment. :/. I mean they weren’t bad, but they needed to be adjusted

I had a 2nd gen and 1st gen. Loved them both but, love my 2019 better. I’ve had no problems with any of them.

Alignment is a good thing to maintain. Just like any maintenance parts. I’d not be worried at all, in fact since they caught it it will save your tires, brakes and suspension some wear. Recalls indicate to me a company that fixes issues before they blow up, for free.

Remember the chrystler transmission where after identifying a major defect they continued to build with it for many years...now that’s a problem.

Sorry for your headache, but once you shake out these new vehicle pains, you Taco should settle into a great groove.

Owners may be getting more picky as the cost of vehicles increases. You hear ”Shouldn’t happen on a $40k vehicle " all the time here.

This is what everyone who isn’t happy with their Tacoma or any other vehicle should do instead of hanging out here bitching about it. Life’s too short to be unhappy.

There is a big misconception that hitting pot holes changes your alignment, that isn't usually the cause. Your suspension is pretty ridged and doesn't typically bend. If that were the case, you would be aligning it everyday. Now it is possible to hit something hard enough to bend something, but they typical reason your alignment changes is from wear. Springs, bushings, etc. compress over time and that is usually what causes the changes. Obviously repeated oscillations contribute to this, but just the act of hitting a pothole isn't the problem. That is the reason the recommendations of getting your alignment check on a regular basis. It is doesn't hurt to check. Many places will offer free checks however they almost will always find it out of spec.

    +1 on the recalls!

OP maybe you ought to take your rig to an alignment shop vs Toyota. They might give you some additional insight as to what’s going on.

If you were closer I’d direct you here https://g.co/kgs/vP6ka8

The frontier is indestructible. Just as good as the Tacoma. Outdated like the Tundra
