2013 tacoma ac resistor issue

    Hello group,
    About 2-3 weeks ago my AC unit in my 2013 Tacoma stopped working except in the HIGH position. I did some research and found that I should replace the resistor and that should take care of the problem. I did that and it fixed it. Yesterday, the same problem occurred again. The AC stopped working except on HIGH speed. Anyone have some ideas about why this is happening? Thanks for any help

    Probably the connector itself is either not making a good connection, or is overheated/burnt.

    Thanks for the reply. I am a green horn at this. Can I replace the connector myself or is that something a mechanic needs to do? I was able to change out the resistor myself(as much cussing trying to get at it in the small space on the dash board area).

    You can change the connector with a stripper and a crimper.

    The terminals on the motor and resistor bridge fit loose and are prone to burning.

    Resistor and connector needed for the fan speed.

    Look at both connectors on the motor. I'd be willing to bet one or both of them are burned.

    If they have burn marks you need to replace the connector plugs.

    82998-12380 Wire and terminal

    Not sold as a kit, sold as each. So you will need one of the plugs and two of the terminal and wires.
