In the PNW they drive consistantly slow as fuck. I promise they will never drive fast.

The fast-paced, dodgy driving we have here is another type of frustration. IMO it's nowhere near as bad as driving 5 below in the fast lane. With CA driving it's the volume, not the style that gets me.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I would disagree with the slow driving in the PNW. Lived there, a lot. We drive fast when we can drive fast. Problem is, I-5 likes to go from 5 lanes to 2 lanes back to 4 lanes all over the place. There is way too many people who shouldn't or probably don't have DLs up there as well, who likely can't even read the language on the signs.

No way man. You are like the 1% of the 1% if you drive faster than 60 on any stretch of the 5 in the PNW. There's open stretches where the only two vehicles on the road are the two lane fucking on the hwy. Maybe they drive slower in Hawai'i but that island shit don't count.

A friend of mine is going backpacking in Emigrant Wilderness this weekend.
One of the routes they're considering has them starting at Bourland Meadow TrailHead at
    38.104327, -119.921770.

He's got a toyota Highlander and the rangers are telling him the route there is high clearance 4wd. Has anyone been over there lately and know the road conditions?

My suggestion was trade the highlander in for a 4Runner today but I don't think that's going to happen.

I've been thinking of heading up that way. Crabtree TH is pretty close and I don't see how high clearance would be needed for that road. Seems like Bourland Meadow would be similar but I can't say for certain.

Sooo much precipitation this season kinda changed a lot of things. I drove my ass all the way out to Idaho and had to continually turn around due to super mushy snow at about 7,700'. Not much snow but enough to get stuck every time.
