2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

I can do it. Break with the ball of foot below the big toe. Then pivot the heel to the gas pedal. I wear a size 11.5, so I don’t have huge feet

 

OK ok.. So faaaaaarr back before all the BS bickering started. The guy stated you can't heel toe because the system does not allow you to. So I stepped on the brake while accelerating in my 2018 (TSS bullshit). It did indeed throw a message saying "cannot brake while accelerating" or something along those lines. Maybe a safety thing on 2018+
Anyways.. I couldn't ever see the need to "heel toe" in a truck... Because race car??

 

And back on topic my weirdo MT Taco friends... I'm going to flash tonight. I have 87 base tune and 87 FOB tune downloaded to try. I do a lot of stop and go around town. Start with FOB? It sure would be nice to pull away quicker in 2nd gear rolling stop signs.

 

start with FOB. try 91 and see what you got.

 

I would love to try 93 FOB but gas prices are up. And we get raped around here almost $1 more per gallon for premium

 

If only we had 93 gas here, but we are a bunch of dirty peasants east of Montreal, can't get more than 91. I doubt it actually is 91 in the winter time, so I flash FOB87 and put 91, then flash back to 91 in May in time for the summer gas to show up.

 

First impressions of 87FOB.. I can't believe how much smoother the truck drives over all. Throttle response is noticeable. I'm also using less clutch starting off and between shifts.

mix of driving last night for about 20 miles. So far so good. I know this thread is full of a bunch of BS but I'll try to report back with my ovtune experience

Those of you that tune using a dongle, about how long did it take for you to get your Gaurdant license once you emailed Mat your system ID/serial number?

 

dayum is that still going on? didn't realize he is still doing that back & forth.

it took a few days for me iirc. this was almost 2 years ago.

 

I bought a used kit from someone about 1.5yrs ago and am just getting around to purchasing the license.

Mat had mentioned that anti virus can cause issues with P5 Flash Utility. I wasn't getting that message, but mine was freezing. I turned off anti virus and it worked for me.

 

Speaking of high heat and humidity, has anyone heard from OVTune guy lately? Curious as to what he's wearing.
