Finally getting started. Just the very basic of wiring for now. Got the wire harnesses built but won’t get the lights until next month. But the thread is fuse panels, not complete wiring systems!!

Also before anyone comments about not having welding sized cables, I am only running some pods for reverse and a light bar in the grille. The gauge is plenty heavy for my application.

    Thanks @paranoid56...
One thing to note is it sits SUPER low. I know this is part of the design but I didn’t want to have to relocate the stock relay box.

Just to be clear- it’s a great mount and very happy with the purchase, just a heads up to those looking for a plate. At the price you can’t go wrong.

Where are first gen guys mounting Bussmann boxes and circuit breakers who have that fuel vapor canister next to the stock fuse box?

For the terminal fuse blocks, will a 100a fuse be good? Just running basic stuff off a BlueSea panel.

Yes but make sure you have the 100 amp fuse block. Your terminal, ANL, in-line fuse, or busman should match the amps on your fuse block.

The fuse should not exceed the max for the terminal block. Blue Seas is rated at 100A so you should be fine. The Bussman RTMR is rated at 80A and smaller fuse blocks have other ratings, just match both the fuse and the supply cable to whatever you get.

So I would run the MRBF terminal fuse + an inline fuse to the fuse block? What's ANL? BlueSea 12 - 100A per block and 30A per circuit. So 100A?

    A thing or two...
ANL us a type of fuse. If you're running the terminal fuse, you don't need an inline fuse.

This^^. Sorry I was trying to say as long as you have a type of fuse you’re good. But also make sure the amps match the amps on the fuse block.

I didn't know that, thank you for the heads up. Is it brand specific?

I can't say a specific brand really. Had something that looked similar installed 15 years ago and it didnt last very long.

Use a blue sea or bussman. Better quality than the screw cap version that is linked. I have 2 bussman on mine. (Pic during install and not finished at that time)

    Hey, I just finished this!

Im in the PNW so, went with a waterproof box. Got a grey one off ebay, size was supposed to be: 260x183x95mm, showed up as: 262x183x95mm. Blue sea fuse block and breaker, waterproof relays, 10 terminal block, grommets on the holes in the box, stainless steel screws/bolts and black silicone.

Mounted directly to the frame using factory 8mmx1.25 holes. Made an L bracket and "washer" to sandwich the box, and still allow it to rest on the bracket. I removed one of the factory wire clips above the firewall and ziptied it to gain more room. I used both halfs of a rubber washer cut in half and taped above the mounts to keep the box horizontal (the factory mounts are at an angle).

Put the breaker on a plate which is mounted to the battery hold down using one countersunk bolt. Spray painted everything black. Used blue loctite on all the box and breaker mounts. All connections are crimped and heatshrinked.

Theres barely enough room to remove the factory fuse box lid. I cut a tab off to access the back latch. 1/8" gap on the left side and on the back.

    Let me know if there are any other questions, cheers!20190721_135824.jpg 20190718_173531.jpg 20190716_204523.jpg 20190716_204509.jpg 20190716_215042.jpg 20190713_132555.jpg 20190713_132547.jpg 20190714_132952.jpg

Seeing all these sweet setups and thinking about the power draw, I can't help but wonder at what point a 2nd battery would be necessary?

Just started putting my setup together last night. 60 amp breaker and 12 fuse Blue Sea unit. I'm going to install a Rago 3 relay holder on the bottom side.
