Good question, the factory panel is like 1/8 or 1/4 inch, so I would double the factory thickness. Measure the factory one and just double it.

I like the pockets in the tailgate. So when I have it down sitting on it drinking a beer at the lake and I spill my last beer, it will catch it so I can still drink it.

That's what I have, the Mobtown smooth with no ribs and only $109. Actual tailgate reinforcement with real steel. I can always buy a cheap cutting board to supplement it if needed.

if you're going to make something overpriced you gotta call it boutique and say it's made from repurposed whale jizz or something

That’s where my opinion differs than some, as I don’t think it’s over priced for the product you’re getting. The necessity of the product is a different story all together.

Love mine. I didn’t want to spend the money but found a scratch and dent that looks perfect. Love it.

I think using that steel reinforcement tailgate with rivnuts or magnets to hold down a cutting board would be great. That way you can remove the cutting board easly to clean it or have it stored somewhere else to keep it clean. I haul a lot of stuff in my bed and wouldn't want to prepare food on anything left in there.

Even Max Powell doesn’t want to use his mountain hatch like a cutting board!

Profit is all good, just be reasonable. Its all good, some people don't mind overspending and some people won't buy stuff knowing its overpriced.

This is inline with other post. I don’t think it’s over priced for what you get. The material isn’t cheap, the machining process isn’t cheap, and have to run a business on top of that and make a profit.

But if it’s worth that price, well that’s a different story.

It was worth it to me. It may not be worth it to other people. That's the difference between a customer and non customer.

    I'm with you @Grossomotto

This video is a great example of too much fluff. I don't need to watch you go to the fridge, get a drink, set it on the tailgate, have it tip over and then watch you scrub the tailgate clean... if Youtube videos would skip the stupid, unnecessary openings and the excessive dialog, then maybe I'd get on board. However, as it currently stands, most youtubers are trying to be the next internet star, despite a sheer lack of talent.

Sorry, but your video could be substituted for a couple lines of text and photos and would accomplish WAY more for the reader.

Clearly my two cents, and you should continue doing what you want. Just explaining why I don't tend to watch these videos, because you asked.

@Mobtown Offroad needs to offer this plate in Aluminum. If they did I would of bought it already. I dont like the idea of increasing the weight of the tailgate since its harder to open and close for kids. Especially if you are inside the bed and want to close and open the tailgate when sleeping back there.

Does anyone have a discount code for the Mountain Hatch tail gate skin??

You ever sit on aluminum after it's been in the cold or sun? Not comfortable.
