Is there a reason so many are selling their OEM boards? My truck did not have them, I installed mine and the main reason is to help stop door dink’s. But maybe some people do not like the looks of them?

Some people may not want them or are upgrading to bolt on or weld on sliders.

I think a lot of people selling them are just swapping them out for rock sliders or different steps.

Are they the step down ones? I saw years ago people getting them messed up off roading. They create catch point. Everyone going to straight ones or sliders.

I can see if you are off roading, you would not want them. Since I do not do that ,I understand now

Personally I took mine off because they actually made it harder to get in or out of the truck. For me their too high to be useful as a step so I had to step over them instead. My 2 main passengers also had the same experience.

My truck came with them. I sold them because I installed ARB’s steps, rails and bumper for my off roady adventures.

The combination of shark boards with a lifted truck and a short driver did not work for me. I sold mine to a tall guy and bought the versions with a step and I love mine

Took mine off cause I bought sliders. Just depends on how you intend to use your truck.

I replaced mine so they are lower. My wife is only five foot tall and she found it was too big a step with the original boards.

I intentionally got mine without boards. Bolted on the iBoard’s iArmor aluminum sliders. Before anyone says it, yes I know they aren’t as strong as steel. I don’t plan on putting the sliders to use. I liked the lighter weight and the fact that they won’t rust. Plasti-dipped the steel bolts.

I like them because they are wider than the fenders. Keeps the door protected from peeps that don’t know how to park or pay attention when they open their door. Had them for 3 months and have already witnessed two idiots jack their own doors up by parking too close and not having enough self awareness to open slowly. It’s pretty funny to see their face when it makes a loud bang on impact.

    Under $300 on Amazon.

Sold my predators a week after purchase. I don’t like running boards on any truck.

I find them practical for both entry and protecting your side from inconsiderate A-holes who will slam the sides of your truck and think noting of it.

I also think they look good as they tend to take the eye away from that ugly flange edge that's visible along the bottom sides of Tacomas.

That's the exact reasons I put running boards on and being up here in Canada to stop all the slush, snow and salt from building up on the paint.
