When I sat in one I felt cramp width wise. To me there's a lot of nice features but the pricepoint is high and with the near $100k after mark up where I found one was even more ridiculous.

Good evaluation. Seemed fair. I personally would rather sell my Taco and drive a Hyundai Accent then to drive something so hideous...

But it’s up to each person to decide if they like the look or not.

Floor drains was one of the things I liked about my '90 pickup. All vinyl interior including the headliner, drain plugs on the floor. Thing had 260 AC, so the interior would get kinda dusty. I'd yank the seat out easily, spray the headliner, rear deck, floorboards with Simple Green, hose it out with the garden hose. Hose the vinyl seat clean in the driveway, let it dry for a few hours and slap it back in.

    Good write up, OP.

I agree with everything in your assessment, with the exception of Tacoma being comfortable in long trips. It isn’t for me.

I owned Jeeps for years. This Tacoma is my first Toyota vehicle: the most diplomatic I can be is to say it is an acquired taste.

Enjoy your Jeep and good luck.

Yeah, the interior width is narrow. The axle width is like a Tacoma so you don't have the 'death wobble' like with older Jeeps.

Gladiators definitely look cool, I have been following some awesome builds on youtube. But spending $20K+ more than I what I did on my Tacoma seems crazy for a midsize truck

Yeah, the auto trans adds another $2000 from base price, shit starts adding up, and with a $2000 hardtop you get to $50k pretty easily.

Again, you can order a base Gladiator Rubicon for $45k including shipping. You get front/rear lockers, front swaybar disconnect, manual Tcase, solid front axle, manual trans, 33's, Fox 2" shocks, nice interior features, you can slap 37's on it easily, and it is NOT a Fiat.

Great price point IMO for what you get stock.

Technically Jeep is a Fiat as they bought out Chrysler. They are still built in Jeep facility’s but owned by Fiat controlled by Fiat. And we all can agree Fiat makes the worst vehicles in North America by a Long stretch. So by them buying Jeep you know they will try and cheap out and cut corners where ever possible to make a profit.

Just stop. Fiat isn't cheaping out with anything in North America. It's ridiculous people keep stating this nonsense. Stupid shit like, "Fiat electrical is shit", as if Fiat will redesign the entire Jeep lineup with a new electrical system. Just stupid, stop that nonsense.

One of the things I liked looking at the Gladiator, that bugger has a 240A alternator with even the base tow package, which is $250. That's another thing you'd have to add to a Tacoma to the tune of maybe $1000.

Great value with the base Rubicon. I said above I wouldn't add any options to the base Rubicon, I'll amend that - add the base tow package for $250 so you get a ClassIV hitch and seven-pin, and that sweet 240A alternator.

OK, so my Gladiator Rubicon base with the tow package and shipping charge is $45,290. That's a great deal.

True. Probably have to drop your hooker talent to the B squad and switch to meth if you bought a pro.
