Here is an example of how it replaces the grill & surround, before and after. Hope this clarifies things for you.

If your truck has TSS, no, an additional wiring harness is not required. With that being said someone else will have to chime in regarding the TSS and if the wire is LONG ENOUGH to move from the original location to the lower location, I do not have TSS so I cannot give reliable feedback on that one.

Perfect. I want to get rid of the chrome and the toyota emblem. I was asking about the area around the grille because I had seen somewhere that people had ordered a black bezel that was for an sr5 I believe. I was curious as to if it was needed or not. Thanks again.

When talking with Gunny on here about ordering an oem pro grille he had these part numbers as what was needed:

    PT228-35180 pro grille

    53141-35060 garnish

    88214-04020 wiring harness

    90183-06044 x 4 cover nut

I had asked him about the bezel but hadn't heard back so thanks again for clearing that part up.

Not needed when moving to a Pro style grill. People tend to move to the SR black surround to eliminate the chrome if they want to stick to their current grill, or move to one of the SR/5/OR/Sport grills as those require a surround.

Definitely listen to Gunny, he knows what you'll need and will never steer you wrong. So if he says you'll need the wiring harness, I'd believe him, and again...no TSS here so can't comment. My '16 didn't come with the TSS feature.

If I end up ordering an oem from Gunny then yes absolutely I would order those items. I am wondering about the wiring harness and nuts if I ordered from FreshMexicanTaco because he sells the grill only. I don't know if it comes with it or what. Someone that bought a grille from him that has tss can chime in and let me know it would be much appreciated.

You dont need the nuts and or wiring harness. I bought one from @FreshMexicanTaco 3 days ago. And i literally woke up right now, opened the front door and the box was just sitting there.

The fake ones are made in the same factory as the OEM ones by the same sweatshop employees.

You can buy four for the price of OEM.

If you are worries about the letters falling off, you can add adhesive, hot glue, etc before you mount.

I have seen OEM and not impressed vs generic.

The garnish I did buy OEM because no one made a knockoff.

I disagree I bought my OEM for 245 with the garnish. And it’s definitely not the same as the knock-off I don’t have to glue or worry about letters falling off. For the price of mine it didn’t pay to buy a knock- off

That's why I purchased from TheTacoGarage.com. I get to support a fellow TW member, the letters all screw into the grill so I never have to worry about them falling off, and the quality is on par with OEM. Only difference I've seen is the OEM grills are a bit more glossy and deeper black, but I actually like the matte finish of the faux grills.

That's a pretty reasonable price. $400 +$60 was what I saw. Buddy has a pro that someone ripped a few letters off helped him replace the grill with OEM. I was not impressed with OEM quality at 4x price.

I think the current consensus Burger King doesn't do Tacos well (see what I did there?).

I ordered the longer Pro harness and it made for an easy install because it would fit in the clip holes just as the Pro would leaving the factory but yea you could re-use the shorter harness with no issue either. Just owners preference really.

And the OEM Grille is cheap enough from Camelback Toyota there is no reason to buy the knockoff.
