I need an understanding group of folks... Folks that have lived through what I have... The desperation, the plight....

My wife just doesn't understand why I'm making a big deal about not being able to find my 4th fender flare... One I saw not a week ago on my garage floor... But now vanished into thin air! No point to this thread other than a support group for others that have fallen victim to garage Gremlins! :angrygirl:

Lol... For me it's the 14mm... But in all seriousness...it's a darn fender flare... Big plastic chunk... It's not like a nut or a bolt that can hide in any nook and cranny

This is a real thing. My kid picked up my good tool set without latching it. Found everything except the damned 10 mil socket. Still missing.

I've got 35 acres, I'm convinced one of my kids dragged it off to nowhere pretending it was a ferry slide

Corroborating that this is a real thing. At the moment, I have six 10mm sockets, four of which turned up in various “How TF did this wind up here” locations when I cleaned out my garage and work bench. I expect that 2 weeks from now the number will be 4 or less whether I use them or not. Fairly certain they move on their own and they are now the prime suspects in recent disappearance of my strap wrench.

FML, and the life of the kid who loses my tools. I use a big pan to keep parts and tools in so loss potential is mitigated...

I'll be locking the tool drawers after the first tool is lost and not recovered...

    4 run, 2 don't
For me it was my 14mm wrenches, both ratcheting and non-ratcheting.

I bit the bullet a few times and bought new ones only to end up with 5-6 now :annoyed:

One of them I found by accident when I got rid of my extra RX7 transmission, one in my dog's old bed, and another one inside my non-op drag Corvette.

Tools are expensive; buying the same tools over again is even more expensive!

You will never find the flare while looking for it !!!

You must come upon it quite by chance Garages are full of inter dimensional portals fail to enter them in the correct order no telling what you might find .

Time also moves quite different to you a few minutes pass to others several hours

Yep, laying on the floor neglected where it could be tripped on = trash.

A few years ago I moved my family to AZ for a new job. Didn't want to buy a place right away due to a 1 year probation period (you never know).

Rented a place with a tiny 10x12 garage which remained full of unpacked shit, so essentially no garage. Just try living with no garage. I sank into a deep depression, didn't even want to drink beers.

We bought a place with a sweet 24x36 shop, 200 feet from the house. I gladly make periodic sacrifices to the garage gremlins/gods for the privilege of garage life.
